Just to clarify, I'm talking about knighthoods given to joe public, and secondly if it's possible to be knighted twice. I.e one order of a knight trumps another.
As going back to my original post I said Bruce Forsyth was already knighted, only to be advised there were further knighthoods available, with a knowing wink.
I'm happy to be advised

Yes that's what I'm talking about to, order of the garter, order of bath etc all have knighthoods attached iirc and the garter is the highest honour of all, again iirc.

Re: New Year's Honours Lists
I was pleased to see this guy get some recognition.
http://www.itv.com/news/wales/update...streetcleaner/
I know some will say it is just his job, but it doesn't tell the full story of the lengths he goes to in order to keep the place clean and tidy. He is very committed to his job and has often been known to clear up litter when he is walking through town and not on duty. He always appears to be on the go, I have rarely seen the guy take a break.

But can you be knighted twice?
Could Bruce be knighted again?
Most "entertainment" knights are knights bachelor, can they be made chivalry knights?

I'm asking if it is possible. You've done the research.

Well, as seen as you obviously don't know I would.
If I could be arsed. Which I can't.
I just wanted confirmation that you didn't know, which you have now given.
Cheers.

On the contrary.
I stated that dear old Bruce had been honoured up, so to speak, having received an OBE and
Knighthood.
You then stated, .....with a knowing wink,..... that there were other knighthoods available. Intimating that Brucey may not be done but could actually trade up to a more superior
Knighthood.
I had never heard of this possibility and It was this assertion that I doubted.
You also stated that you had........ "done the research"
But you have just admitted that you do not actually know if this is the case,.....so why the knowing wink???.....
So no, compared to you, no I don't feel silly at all.
Quite the opposite.
