Connecting to a AV amplifier

I have a Yamaha RX-V371 amplifier which is connected to my LG television and would like to connect it to my Virgin Hd TiVo box

Just want to know where I need to connect the HDMI and Optical lead to both devices to allow HD sound and vision
Thanks

Re: Connecting to a AV amplifier

No the HDMI does the digital sound as well. No need for an optical cable as well.

Simply connect the TiVo by HDMI to the amp and then from the amp to the TV.

Okay so I have done that but the sound seems to be a bit behind like the actual visual picture that is displayed
Is there anything that can be done?

Unfortunately, this is becoming a more common problem with newer TVs that do a lot of processing.
If your AV amplifier doesn't have an audio delay setting, you'll need an external device.

I bought this one:

from here:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00131FRK...1_3p_M3T1_dp_1

and it's excellent. As it has a remote control function, I've even added a couple of Up\Down buttons on my Logitech Harmony to change the delay, depending on the channel I'm watching.
Channel 4 HD seems to be the worst.

Re: Connecting to a AV amplifier

There may be an audio delay setting on the amp. Or it may be a video setting on your TV that you need to change.
