Whats happening with Gold
Hi all I have noticed that quite often on Gold including gold +1 the screen goes black for a split second I thought this was a fault with my virgin media equipment but yesterday I noticed that it does the same on my friends sky hd equipment to so I think there is a problem somewhere.
It seems worse on +1 for some reason this has been happening for a while now. I was wondering if others have noticed the same thing? Im not very technical so I wonder what is causing it.
I have emailed UKTV and await a reply.

Re: Whats happening with Gold
Just a quick update I have had a reply from UKTV but they were asking for further information regarding the problem so I have supplied them with the further information for their technical team.
It is a shame as Gold is a great channel and this really needs sorting out, the bitrate seems to have been lowered to.

Re: Whats happening with Gold
had a reply from Uktv
Thank you for your email.
We checked this out on our off air recordings when this was first reported and didn't see the problem.
The fact that it's on Gold and Gold +1 and on both Sky and Virgin Media would indeed point to a source problem, but we weren't seeing it on either our output or off air.
Having had a closer look at this, we think we've found a problem on the +1 service which is now fixed. However, the main GOLD channel looks consistently fine .
Please can you reply to this email and confirm a specific time and date as this would be very helpful? Thank you.
Kind regards
The UKTV Team

Re: Whats happening with Gold
I had this watching TV Burp recently, but then I watched an episode on Cartoon Network HD (cue Harry Hill turn-to-side WTF face) at the weekend and it did it there too once.
