Re: Unite
Not really a surprise, if true. Sounds like they'd just be carrying on where Blair and his motley crew left off and for the same reason...

Re: Unite
There was a time when *Trade* Unions stood for the rights of workers. Now it seems they've dropped the dirty T-word and are more interested in building a client base out of welfare dependants.

Re: Unite
For those doubters, link to Unite's foreign language membership forms. Which starts off with English.
When did China become part of the EU?

I can see a list of foreign membership forms but I can't see the other stuff Don't forget they also "help to claim UK benefits in return for joining". No doubt I'm missing the bit in your link where they say that so if you could point it out it would be great. Cheers.

Re: Unite
It seems Unite have Foreign language forms and will accept immigrants into the Union. They will also help members find out what benefits they'll be entitled too. The Daily Mail has connected these two dots.

I wasn't going to try and translate them.
About their community membership scheme

Unite's community membership scheme brings together people from across our society.
Those not in employment are welcomed into the union family, adding another dimension to our strength in thousands of workplaces across the UK

benefits.

Just because 2 things are not together in the same sentence, doesn't mean it isn't true.

Re: Unite
Like most if this is true then unite should be investigated I'm sure there's a breach of something somewhere. That said if this government had properly reformed welfare instead of cost cutting and labelling that as reform the system would have been tighter and less able to be manipulated by anyone. Blame as usual on all sides and various media outlets will highlight what bests suits their political view not the whole story.
