Fairly certain TFL would not allow "OMFG, The Overground has gone down *again*"...

BTW, for those who don't know, the Overground is a series of lines that are run by TFL effectively as London Underground lines although they are mostly overground, and a lot were previously National Rail lines. And yes, at least one line does go down every day.

Re: TFL looking into allowing sponsored Tube Names

They allowed an overweight cockney to rename a 123 year old football stadium with little to no fuss so I can't see the hierarchy behind the tube giving a crap.

Sports Direct@London Underground 2014 or how about the Sports Direct Underground.

Mark my word. Not so funny now though is it?

Absolutely not! I'm with Damien with this one and I think the majority of Londoners with be against this idea.

There are plenty of other ways for big business to support the Tube and get their advertising seen.

I'll be looking out for the petition agin it..

There is one difference. A football stadium is used regularly by maybe a few thousand fans. The tube is used by millions of people. Any change in naming would not be done lightly.

That's part of my point though. 52k a week in a stadium. The tube is more lucrative and they'd swarm it.
