Made the headline more in line with the letter than the Mail headline but this kind of things anger me. I bet Islamic children would not have to attend a Christian workshop

When are we going to make other cultures integrate with us instead of us having to integrate with them

I don't see anything wrong with kids needing to learn about (that's LEARN ABOUT, not 'agree with' or 'convert to') Islam seeing as it's such a hot topic in world news right now plus it's one of the fastest growing religions in the world. That way they can learn the facts instead of the "they're all just suicide bombers who want to turn the UK in to an Islamic state" BS that does the rounds today.

The racial discrimination record is pathetic though. Sounds more like the head trying too hard to be seen as being PC. Either that or she expected enough parents to object to the workshop purely because it was about Islam.

I don't see how a visit to see Islamic artefacts would do anything to inform them about Islam.

It's like that with my niece and nephews school though.
it's a bit of a posh school, and their mum gets letters every other day telling her she's got to pay for this and pay for that all the time.

But seriously, that is really bad to say "Refusal to allow your child to attend this trip will result in a Racial Discrimination note being attached to your child’s education record, which will remain on this file throughout their school career."

It wouldn't surprise me if this woman gets a lot of grief for that threat. she really does deserve it.

they would be better off at the natural history museum it's based on facts not fiction .

What have they got anything to do with learning about the history, customs, and beliefs of the religion itself? That is what they were meant be learning about in RE.

The idea wasn't a bad one but the execution of it was stunningly bad.
