HD should be free to everyone - not included, or extra - just free. Jeez it's been around long enough now. I think the technology upgrades to create, broadcast and feed HD will have long been paid for. Sky are dictating this "HD costs extra" scenario and are thus ripping the @rse out of it to make money from literally nothing.
I still joke about Nicam stereo being free when it launched, but the reality was similar to HD.
If FTA channels can provide HD free - then why not the rest? And why are carriers such as Sky and VM getting away with charging to access them??
Down with this sort of thing...!

100% agree. some of the things $ky do in business are pretty bad but the whole charging for a HD version of a channel you already get is absolutely disgusting. HD has been out for years now. Will this charge remain forever? Will we forever have to pay tons more just purely for a clearer picture?? $ky literally try to squeeze everything they can out of people and the govt allows this.

Currently HD does cost more. It's not just the equipment, it's programme editing time; video processing in HD takes longer than it does in SD and time is money. And although they have bought new equipment, I'm sure they are still adding to the amount they need.
Having said that, whether they should absorb that cost as natural technological advances like other innovations that can't be as easily labelled, and they are taking advantage of the fact that it can be labelled and inappropriately charging for it, is another matter entirely.

I asked the same question on the 'Help & Support' forum but there was no reply from the Virgin team. I pointed out that we are well into Autumn now.
I was expecting Spotify to be bundled in with the iphones that will be available on Virgin Mobile tomorrow. It's free on Vodaphone yet Virgin are supposed to have a 'partnership' with Spotify.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 6.
I have just been looking at my bill and it has been increasing in price for ages and I have been meaning to downgrade my TV pack. Can anyone remember the deal with Tivo cost, I got both of mine back when they first came out and I believe you were supposed to be only charged for one but I seem to have two TV charges. The bill doesn't really help when things are not broken down and itemised.
