what would you do?
We ordered an item online on Friday and it was delivered to my place of work yesterday.
Today I received the same item again.
Should I return the second item or keep hold of it for month or so and then sell it on.
Value of said item is £230.
We can't make use of second item as it's only possible to use one (we only have room for one)
Just for fun, can anyone guess what it is that I ordered.

Re: what would you do?
Possibly a kitchen appliance like a dishwasher or microwave? Maybe a shower?

Re: what would you do?
My guess is a TV, i hope this happens with my Xbox One and i get to keep another.
Hold onto it boxed up for a month or 2 checking to make sure you're not charged for it and if you hear nothing maybe keep it.

Look at it this way: could someone lose their job over this if the erroneous item fails to turn up? Especially 6 weeks before Christmas, perhaps someone with a young family?
Your call of course...

But if he keeps it, the person may keep his job and he gets one for free.
where if he sent it back, the person may lose his job anyway, and he loses out on having a free one.
I think before we make any rash decisions. we need to know who it was ordered from. and possibly what the item is worth on ebay.

Re: what would you do?
Serously though, you should contact them and ask what you should do.
Big companies like Amazon will usually tell you to keep it as it's too much hassle to have it returned.
They have to pay for the return, and arrange a time to collect that's suitable for you
..that, and it's good PR

Companies rarely work that way and for goods to the value of that amount (or more) someone is more than likely going to miss it showing up on an inventory and someone will have to carry the can for it.

Re: what would you do?
If he sends it back it may bring to light the mistake and the person loses his job anyway if he stays quiet no one might ever know of the error
keep it and sell it

Re: what would you do?
If it was a low value item it's more likely to be written off or even not noticed.
£230? Highly doubtful it's going to be overlooked. If people can switch off their conscience and have the attitude of 'finders keepers' then that's on them.

Re: what would you do?
I would contact the company and advise them of the mistake.
