The very mention of the words 'Sky Atlantic' seems to trigger a certain reaction from you, Dave!
You forgot to mention that you hope you are wrong!

But not everyone uses a smart DNS. People who do are the minority and VM needs to cater or the majority.
Although Hulu is available using a smart DNS, to get Hulu+, you have to lie about where you live as it won't take non US credit cards.

Can't wait for Dave to be proved wrong! But then I suppose he will find something else to deny!
Sorry Dave!

I certainly wouldn't pay £7.50 a month just to watch only HBO content , I'm all for choice but buying an individual studios content in this way sure could get pricey , of course the £21.50 gets you a PVR and a whole load more content. How many at £7.50 a month for purely HBO content would subscribe because I think the numbers would be low.

I'd imagine there going to have to recruit a considerable amount more subscribers before posing a real threat to the UK/Ireland movie rights.

Netflix aren't to be sniffed at they have quite a lot of cash behind them and are more than capable of giving Sky a run for their money.
This is a very interesting article though about Netflix possible appearing on Sky http://www.broadbandtvnews.com/2013/...flix-carriage/

I think you underestimate Netflix, they have a lot of money and a lot of power in the rights buying industry. I bet they are not far away from having more subs than Sky Movies.

It would be interesting how they do this if it does happen because Sky have adopted the download system and not the streaming system.

It's annoying having to dl to watch on demand lol but then again it only takes a minute or two before being available so can't really complain. I tend to just download my shows/movies overnight ready for the next day.
As you said it's going to be interesting to see how they approach this with Netflx.
