I think the problem is that you are posting what is just your firmly held opinion, based on circumstantial evidence, as if it was a fact.
No one has a problem with firmly held opinions; but they do have a problem when you tell them it is a fact, but fail to reveal the nature of your source.

First of all, they are not fairy tales they are rumours; some have substance and some don't. Some are gleaned from things like VM accidentally putting up web pages before they should do (and rapidly removing them) and some from insiders (and I you don't believe in leaks, you really aren't living in today's world) and some are pure speculation.
But all the above is what this thread is about; and we love it. We don't take everything as gospel, and have fun with the information, real or unreal.
It seems to me that this thread just simply isn't for you.

The delay in launching - there could be a number of reasons for this, but I believe it may have something to do with the negotiations over the Sky Bravo channel or it may have something to do with the launch of the Sky channels elsewhere. We all know by now that channel launches can be delayed for technical and other reasons - just look at Fox + (or do you also deny that this is ready to launch on VM?).
You can choose not to believe what I have been saying, MJ. However, I will be proved to be right in the end.

He has been convinced those Sky channels were going to launched for years mate, don't get carried away.
The very nature of you continuing to post these lies is that eventually, if you persist for long enough, you will accidentally be proved right. Even a broken clock is right twice a day, and that sums you up entirely. All talk, no substance.

I think he's lost, as he lists Sky services and nothing from VM. Maybe the nice Sky people who post on here can help him find his way home. The poor old boy is probably just a bit confused.

I respect your opinion, passingbat, but please, let's chill out! Nobody can quote sources directly on most channel launches because VM do not communicate.
The whole point of this thread is to work out what is going on behind the scenes. If you want to deal in facts, look at the Changelog!
I am telling you what I believe is happening, based on media reports and sometimes the information that comes out of this thread. Do you really think that I would be prepared to lay my reputation on the line if I didn't believe what I was posting?
Listen, if you don't believe what I write, that is up to you, and I am not upset if you don't believe me. I stand or fall on my reputation.
If at the end of the year, the Sky channels haven't materialised, then you will be right and I will be wrong. But if all the predictions I make turn out to be true, eventually, you will start to take what I say seriously.
I will come clean now. I am not absolutely sure that ALL the Sky channels will be with us this autumn. However, Sky Atlantic is coming. Even Media Boy believes it now.
The reason I'm not sure about the remainder of the Sky channels is that I think it is possible that VM will decide to save a few pennies by not having them. But it is not Sky trying to withhold them.

If you don't like programmes like Boardwalk Empire, Mad Men, Blue Bloods, Game of Thrones (I could go on...) then clearly the channel is not for you.
Good luck with the rubbish that you can find on other channels (Dawn Porter, Extreme Wife; When Vacations Attack; Body Invaders (I could go on...), I'm glad you are happy.
One thing I will say, though. Many I am sure look at the Sky Atlantic schedule for one or two days and find nothing they want to watch. I am the same. However, with multi-channel TV, you have to go through ALL the schedules and pick out what you want. I would definitely not want to watch Sky 1 all evening, but I cannot ignore the occasional good drama series that appear on there.
Sky Atlantic is not the be all and end all. However, they do screen some programmes worth seeing.

Well, it is SD! Maybe with the extra money VM brings in, they can afford to launch an HD channel.

So why read the Cable Forum Coming Soon thread? You are old enough to work out the fact from the fiction.
