Do you get on with your next door neighbours?

Simple question really....Do you get on with your neighbors or are they the neighbors from hell?

I try to be friendly and treat everyone as I would want to be treated myself but do get a little annoyed when people take the **** and dont show any respect.

I have one set of neighbours who are really nice, they water my tomato plants, come round for a drink, etc.

Some of my other neighbours really have no respect.
I know when to turn my music off. I know people need sleep and people have jobs early in the mornings.
One neighbour accross the road only thought about himself and I had to get the council involved to get him to realise his music needed turning down and he wasnt the only one in the neighbourhood!

I realise people have parties and people can have fun but when you tell someone it will end at such time then it should.

Or today for example I find that I'm blocked in my own private car parking space because mr "Do what he wants" parks behind me.
What no brain person cant figure out that I need to get out and have access?
Crazy!

Luckily most of the time it is alright but you have to wonder sometimes.
I often do the weeding down the communal path/road. Would anyone decide to chip in and give me a hand. Yeah right.

Some people need to wake up and remember what a community is.

So how are your neighbours?

one side great no problems in 25 years

the other side a council house reject family [chucked off the local chav estate] , they have no control over their kids whatsoever i seem to dish out all the bollockings to the little savages -and the noise they produce is unbelievable they are like a bunch of savages on e numbers, the parents are **** and this reflects in the offspring, shooting would be my preferred option but uk law looks down on that sort of thing.

Re: Do you get on with your next door neighbours?

we're lucky, get on well with next door neighbours both sides, also lucky, that we get on with, but no in each others pockets Family on 1 side, generally keep to themselves, but if we see each other coming or going stop for a quick "hello, how are you", they've taken parcels for us when we're out and always bring them round evening that day

Other side, single OAP, really nice bloke, likes to talk, needs me to retune his tv etc if there's a powercut etc, but I'm happy to help out, he gives us eggs from his chickens I took him to the local farm to get

the guy next to him seems nice as well, never had a proper conversation with him, but say "good morning, how are you" etc to each other.

so yes, I'm pretty lucky, get along with them. The only grumble is sometimes i can't park outside my house cos some-one from one of the neighbouring streets has, but I guess they're annoyed cos some-one has parked outside their house etc.

Re: Do you get on with your next door neighbours?

Been lucky, always had good neighbours and gotten on well with them. Had dinner with quite a few of them, dated the daughter of another, invited to christening of another, all good stuff and no negative issues.

Only noise problems have been from police helicopters at my last house, who needs noisy neighbours when choppers circle above you for 30+ minutes at a time, most weeks without fail :P

It is easy to take for granted good neighbours!

Ditto Papa as on one side the neighbour looks after our place when we visit family but on the other side they are a absolute disgrace with noise at all hours of the day and night and thus l now put earplugs in nightimes to keep out their noise so that l can get a decent sleep.

Re: Do you get on with your next door neighbours?

My old neighbour that moved no we didnt get on because their son who they thought the sun shone from his backside was a drug dealer and people used to bang our door in the night asking if we knew where he was because there was no answer there.

Since the have moved we have an older couple and they are great but they have been through hell with druggies still going there.

Re: Do you get on with your next door neighbours?

I'm semi-detatched, so only one neighbour, but would not wish for a better one.

When we go on holiday, she feeds our meangerie of animals. When she is at home, we never hear her.

Of course, this is two way. I have given her my wi-fi code for her kindle, and we get eggs from her chickens.

All in all, we are lucky she is there

Neighbours left and right okay but next door but one just moved in and has got a little effin dog that yaps All Day. What is it with dog owners? Are they DEAF? Please, if you are reading this and have a noisy dog, do all of us sufferers a favour and set fire to it.

Re: Do you get on with your next door neighbours?

LOL.

I think with noise it's a case of when you're there at the main source of the noise it's normal. it's when you're not there and having to listen to it from somewhere else that it becomes a problem.

Have you thought about going around the new neighbours and sitting with them for a few hours whilst the dog is barking. it won't be so bad then?

Re: Do you get on with your next door neighbours?

Mine are okay, don't really hear from them apart from the way the one on the left shuts her front door, it's like she wants to cause it physical harm.

I don't know these people, I would feel a bit silly asking if I could go and sit in their house. Mind you, if they let me in, I'd strangle the dog. Best to stay away.

Re: Do you get on with your next door neighbours?

Got on with both of my neighbours for twenty years, until one day one of them just cut me dead when I said hello to him. This went on for about six years when his wife asked my wife to go halves on a plastering job on our houses which was agreed to. All of a sudden my neighbour started to talk to me again. The wife reckons he's been put on happy pills.

Re: Do you get on with your next door neighbours?

All our neighbours get on very well, ok one of them is a little bit 'odd' but is fine with us.
We have no trouble at all with dogs or kids and we are very happy.
