I wonder if this improved offer by VM will mean a reduction in the standalone subscription charge? How much is it on Sky?

A) I was told last night by an rumour poster that Virgin may launch Premier Sports before that Rugby world cup thing starts.
B) Premier Sports costs £9.99 per month (info from Premier Sports web site).

When Virgin Media did the NGTV updates back in 2011 it took three nights to update all areas of Manchester.
So maybe Virgin have added the Netfix tests to Manchester to see how the Netfix tests worked in an big area.

There are still regional headends, that hasn't changed, so there can still be regional rollouts

What a good idea
Although I would expect that most people have a DVD recorder or player, I think that it's a minority (mainly younger well off types) who have additional devices. Most can't afford them, I would have thought!
It is so much more convenient to be able to access all broadcast and streaming content over the TIVO and I think it is Liberty Global's strategy to move in that direction.

Ahh fair enough I misunderstood your original post.
Yeah it's probably a small minority that have access to multiple devices. Though my PS3, Bluray Player and Smart TV are already connected, it's just a couple of button presses on a remote to open the Netflix App

Wow! £9.99 per month im speechless even for the most diehard fan you gotta feel for an SD channel a fiver would be the upper limit
Im liking the idea of a blu ray player built into the TIVO but cant see Movie providers being to happy about it

Updates on Sky are rolled out over a period of several months.

If true, I think that's a shame. Imagine the XL pack being able to offer all those HD channels, free music, BT Sports, ESPN and Netflix to boot! That would be a package to die for and I think it would turn heads.
I hope that this stand alone rumour turns out to be false.
I wouldn't ask for any more, honest! Except Sky Atlantic of course!

There is adverts for a new tv channel called 'Lifetime' coming soon. Is this something new that may be joining VM.
Any ideas ?

Well then I thank you
If you read my post, I do acknowledge that there are people who don't like a lot of different devices attached to the TV, and for that reason, it is a good move to add Netflix to Tivo.

However some people do like the convenience of everything in one box, so it will be an added value convenience rather than a USP. And there is nothing wrong with added value convenience. The fact that Netflix titles will be included in any Tivo search is another nice feature.
