Playback of recorded programs.

Is there anyway to choose where you start playback from? Like you can with Sky.....so for example start 40 minutes into recording.

Not. But you can automatically resume play from where you previously left off if you initially only watch part of a recording.

Re: Playback of recorded programs.

It depends what you mean.

1. If you want to commence a recording 40 minutes into a programme, you can set it manually.

2. If you want to watch a part of a fully recorded programme commencing at 40 minutes, you can use the fast forward and leap through the segments, which only takes a few seconds.

3. If you've already watched the first 40 minutes from your recording, when you next get in, you will be asked whether you want to resume the recording or watch it from the start.

I hope one of these answers your question.

You can on the old V+ box but I was always intrigued as to why anyone would want to start, for example, 40 minutes into a recording?

The important bit in my view, is that it starts a recording from where you left off if you watch a show in two sittings, which Tivo does.

If you just want to skip through the first few minutes of padding, the fast forward button will do that easily and quickly. For longer periods, the Skip button will take you to each white mark on the progress bar.

Re: Playback of recorded programs.

I think OLD BOY meant to start the recording (not the playback) 40 minutes into the programme by using a manual recording.
