Question about Debit Cards & Direct Debits

If I had agreed to three payments going out on an annual basis


the last payment going out October of Next year
but the card expiring August of Next year
would the payment go out of the new card automatically?

no the expiry date will be wrong

I am not 100% sure what happens with debit cards but as Tizme says the date will be wrong and the card number on the front will possibly change too and know with a credit card you need to update things like this.

If i was you i would log onto your online banking and ask them this very question.

According to the below link it depends on how the direct debit was set up. If you set it up by giving them your bank account number you may not need to update anything.

Direct Debit coming straight from the account will not be affected by a change in card. However, if the payment is set to come from the card then you will need to contact the relevant company to give them your new card details when you get the new card.

Simple no, you need to contact them and give them the details of the new card.

Their system should've picked it up.
