We may well get some HD stuff from them but it maybe wont be long before Sky bring out a UHD service to replace it and so the cycle goes on.

Bit behind the BBC arent they?

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 4.
Super Hi Vision with a resolution of 7680x4320 trialled and sent over the JANET research network , a 20 Gigabit high bandwith IP network and shown on a 400 inch cinema screen and a 150 inch plasma monitor, I best get the front wall knocked down in preperation for fitting the new Ultra HDTV in and see if I can get a boost on my 9mb Broadband connection to stream it on. Can anyone lend us the £25,000 I need for the TV ?
Interesting news

I have subscribed to Netflix in the past and it is underwhelming in its content, it's repeat central with very little new series/film premiers on it

Try it using a smart dns or vpn it opens up a whole new world of Netflix including movies that haven't even been on Sky box office yet

I'm totally the opposite. I'm a recent adopter, joined 2 weeks ago, and I'm totally amazed at the range available for £5.99 per month.
In terms of Boxsets, Netflix is amazing. My wife and I are currently enjoying The Tudors, House of Cards, Breaking Bad, Prison Break, Dexter and 24 from the very start.
I've also been impressed by the amount of films they've picked up that will air before, or will never air on SKY Movies like Lawless, The Hobbit, The Expendables 2 and How I Spent My Summer Vacation.
If you can't afford SKY Sports and SKY Movies, Virgin will soon be offering up a real alternative. BT Sports included at no extra cost in the XL package with access to Netlix for £5.99 per month. Who knows, maybe those on XL and VIP may be able to get access to Netflix cheaper!
BT Sports in XL plus Netflix on TiVo is game changing. Well done Virgin Media
SKY would be mad to allow Virgin to have SKY Atlantic and the rest of the missing HD channels now. SKY have some real competition on their hands. Must admit, my days as a SKY customer look numbered unless they can come up with something sensational in the next 90 days. The countdown to contract expiry is on.........

Maybe an deal has been signed or is days away from for all we know.
The story I saw some weeks ago says that Sky want an carried deal for Sky Bravo to be on Virgin Media signed before Sky confirmed an launch date for Sky Bravo. Maybe Sky need to resell SKY Atlantic to Virgin to get money to help pay for SKY Atlantic and also that overpay Football deal for 116 games.
Quote:

It is understood that the launch of the channel is likely to be put on the back burner, in the short term at least, as it has not managed to gain a distribution deal to air in Virgin Media's 4 million-plus households.
