Re: STM always enforced?
just enjoy it where it last, virgin media support manager say it will bring in STM in some areas by areas but I don't believe any word of it. There isn't any STM for many of us lately.

Kindly stop spamming about how much you download.

Re: STM always enforced?
Well it appears both download and upload are unlimited, just uploaded 3.5GB and no STM as of yet, still uploading so will see.
Don't you just love no stm in an overutilised area

Quite correct.
That being said, STM doesn't begin until 16:00. I'd like to know how telford downloaded 145GB in 90mins. Apparently he's trialing VM's new 220Mbps service.

How interesting, it seems that SpeedTest detects your location (or at least tries to) and adjusts the time accordingly. This is what I see:
I fear I may owe Telford a minor apology, as 2 and a half hours actually makes more sense.

It appears to me as 10.32 am but I am using a pub WiFi ATM.

Re: STM always enforced?
Speedtest.net lets you set your time zone, I don't know if it saves it via IP address or cookie though. It could be the former and that would explain why it darts around so much. Or it's just using poor IP location to set a default.

If I was in a pub, I wouldn't be on CableForum

Re: STM always enforced?
I almost didn't believe it but I've finally been able to test this myself and I appear to be one of the lucky ones not getting STM'd. Just downloaded about 30GB of material over the last 40minutes and I'm still speed testing a solid 125mbit.
