Right that was my worry, the W7 disc is christ knows where and I just lent the disc drive from a friend to install it last time.
Its my final straw anyway, I'm moving to Ubuntu.

I have been using USB Pendrives lately for installing Windows.
The install time has gone from being around 15 minutes to around 3 minutes, so much faster and easier as I now don't need a optical drive in my pc anymore.

I am back on windows 7 until such time as Microsoft return a working as BEFORE start button. If i wanted a mobile phone operating system i would buy a phone. Windows 7 and Linux will be around for years to come so i am more than happy.

Tried Ubuntu, its okay but I'm pining for Photoshop and a decent Skype app so I've bought one of those 4p to produce DVD drives on eBay so I can reinstall Windows 7.
I just want a working computer and my bloody sanity back.

I want the same. Windows 8 will go down in history as the same rubbish as windows Millennium and windows Vista.

It will go down in history to me as being the worst OS I have used, since I had no issues with ME or Vista.
I will get rid of Windows though, if the day ever comes that DirectX works on Linux so that I can still game.

Then i will be moving to Linux for my main pc and using a windows 7 machine for gaming. however i am pretty sure it will be hacked so it has a proper start button just like they have hacked it now.
Tiss not a problem as they will never get any money out of me again EVER. It great having evaluation versions of there software to use anyway.

Re: [MERGED] Windows 8 discussion
I think even microsoft know windows 8 is a flop, we'll have to wait and see who takes over in a years time and see what changes they bring.
I personally like the UI interface of windows 8 I like the fact I can have all my regular things in tiles at the start and don't have to bother with the desktop if I don't want. I just dont like how microsoft have to hide everything from people as if they are a bit stupid like the calculator for instance it took me a while to find it
