I take it you can't see any obvious screw/clips holding the filter cover closed?
Vauxhall have a habit of using secure clips to prevent things failing!
Go into Halford and look at replacement sparkplugs, size up a socket to remove plugs!
(I wrecked 2 T Bar wrenches in trying to remove plugs from a Meriva)

I know, unless you have already changed the plugs, the two jobs go hand in hand.

Do Haynes still put out car manuals? I have the 3 for the cars I have owned and found them priceless.

If not available why not pop down to your local garage and have a chat with a mechanic?
Or roll your sleeves up and have a delve.

Thanks but the Aglia is completely different arrangement as the Agila filter is on the top of the engine, I can see a clip but unclipping that it dose not release the filter box so some where there must be a hidden clip of fastening some where.

Is there a bolthead visible... my Skoda's airfilter is held on by clips all around PLUS a pair of bolts?
