Re: Can't Seem to get the Broadband Monitor to work :(

If you have now changed the IP address to the 82.x one and have allowed echo requests as above then it should work. do you see anything on the TBB graph yet?

You mean ping my own IP address?

Yes, just checked and its all <1ms,

And then at the end it says 0ms for all of them.

So it does work pinging my own IP address from my computer.

Re: Can't Seem to get the Broadband Monitor to work :(

This is how it should look like

Code:
C:\>ping 80.195.xx.xx

Pinging 80.195.xxx.xxx with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 80.195.xxx.xxx: bytes=32 time=5ms TTL=64
Reply from 80.195.xxx.xxx: bytes=32 time=3ms TTL=64
Reply from 80.195.xxx.xxx: bytes=32 time=3ms TTL=64
Reply from 80.195.xxx.xxx: bytes=32 time=27ms TTL=64

Ping statistics for 80.195.xxx.xxx:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 3ms, Maximum = 27ms, Average = 9ms
Can you show what your looks like please.

The same but in the reply section it says:

time=<1ms

for all the of them.

Then at the end,

the Min, Max & Average are all 0ms.

Re: Can't Seem to get the Broadband Monitor to work :(

That seems right, and the interface is responding.

I wonder if you have your ICMP rules set to allow only certain subnets or local sources. Could you turn off Norton completely for a minute or two to see if that changes anything?

The ICMP rules allow all traffic.

I have doubled checked this.

I also set up my own rule to allow all ICMP traffic too.

I have also disabled Norton for 5 minutes as well.

I still only get a big red line and after a while a giant block of red

Re: Can't Seem to get the Broadband Monitor to work :(

Ethan, can you do me a favour and run the "ipconfig" command. It's just like ping, except instead of "ping 82.x.x.x" just type "ipconfig" into a command line. You should get a list of network adapters with IP addresses. Now I know your IP address begins with 80.195 but I want to double check that's what your computer is showing.

For the record, this is what it looks like for me when I run the command:

My IP address is 192.168.1.69.

Yep, computer shows exactly the same IP that ThinkBroadband shows, 82.19.xxx

Then there's something else blocking your responses. If it's not your firewall, it's something else running on your machine.

I wonder what it could be.

I did a clean Win 7 install only 2 weeks ago.

All I really have is Norton, iTunes and IE/Chrome installed :/

Re: Can't Seem to get the Broadband Monitor to work :(

Do yourself a favour and get rid of norton. It's more trouble than it's worth.

(Make sure you have an alternative Firewall though).
