The words "an expert in sports broadcasting" would indicate knowledge of how broadcasting works.

I claim to know this as I am a continuity announcer and as jobs in this field are scarce I do freelance work within playout. I did not mislead you, I clearly said how would you connect TOO the vision mixer. And then how you get that to Playout.
Also the girl you are seeing doesn't know you are unemployed, are you saying you are employed or have you not told her? Don't have to answer, just wondering!

You're kidding, right? There are all sorts of aspects to "sports broadcasting" from the technical side, to which channel has the broadcast rights to show which sport on the telly.
It was abundantly clear from the content of timbo's posts that it was the latter aspect he was refering to along with fixture information. I saw not a shred of evidence in any of his posts to suggest he was talking about the technical aspect.

Re: Have you changed/cancelled your account since ESPN closing?
Though I'd try to get back on topic. I have not changed my package yet, but am given it serious consideration as I am a rugby fan and BT have the rights. I emailed the CEO's office and received a phone call today. I was not offered any reductions or offers, the woman I spoke to just apologised for the uncertainty and advised me to wait a bit longer before moving to sky as I am out of contract.
Whether she was just trying to keep me as a customer or there is news coming is any ones guess.
I'm happy to wait a bit longer though as the first match isn't till September. If no news by then I will find it hard not to switch. Although I would definitely miss TiVo, superior BB and guaranteed picture in bad wether.

You are destroying him here. Well done. be prepared for people to tell you that you aren't, mind.
As I said I answered the question for a laugh, just to play along with his games as I had nothing better to do. it was pretty easy really. He is still playing games as part of his question and replies is to deliberately mislead me so that he could pop up and say "ha, you don't need to do that!!!", but I picked up on it.
Obviously, any fool could see that I made it, as you said, abundantly clear that i was referring to football fixtures, tv stations and rights, and only a pedant would actually think that i meant i was experienced in broadcasting production. but since it is so easy i could probably do whatever job he does with 2 weeks training and do it to a suitable level. it's sounds a repetitive, dull, thankless job that only a proper gimp that enjoys being locked away in a sweltering, BO ridden box all day would enjoy. therefore i would hate it. i would alson hate to work in football incase i fell out of love with the sport. same reason i would hate to work in the game industry, or as a chef or something. as i love games and food. in saying that i could easily work in something like fashion though, something i also love.
(to answer the question my bird on the go doesn't know i'm unemployed. late twenties now and i'm a pretty decent looking lad being honest so i only bother with very good looking birds these days. telling them i have a job even when i haven't is is a pre-requisite. job interview friday though, delighted to hear i have an interview. hopefully get it and then my problem is sorted.)

feel your pain. Sports fans are the most prejudiced people in the country bar none, for insults and for money. BT getting all those rugby rights has stitched you up good and proper, ditto for them getting 1 quarter of the premier league and 18 first picks. ESPN was possible to live without but BT Sport is such better content it's an essential if you love sport.

So,I suppose you can add yourself to that list of "very, very stupid customers that no nothing about sport" as if you tune in to ESPN on 17th August at 12:45 you wont be watching the Liverpool v Stoke game as it is on BT Sport 1.......but hey, you probably knew that...

what on earth are you on about? did you even read my post?
i said they'll only realise ESPN has gone at 12.45 on the 1st day of the season. when they attempt to tune in to it to watch the match, a match they probably think is on ESPN. a channel it's not on, and which Virgin hasn't got. because they're stupid mate. that's the point i was making.
This is backed up by hundreds of people on Twitter everyday saying, "where has ESPN gone?"
ESPN is gone off Virgin so obviously they won't be watching anything on it.
I know full well it's on BT Sport. I'm a Liverpool fan, from Liverpool unlike yourself, and i've just spent the last month... talking about BT Sport!!!

I wasn't trying to 'destroy' him, but pointing out that he was trying to challenge you on an aspect of sport that you hadn't even mentioned in any of your posts, which I thought was wrong and it seemed that it was being used as a way to get at you.
As I've previously posted, I think your attitude on certain things is outrageous. But the absurdity of some of the things in your posts doesn't bother me in the slightest, and if fact, as I've said previously, often makes me smile. That, and the fact that you do seem to have a lot of knowledge about football is the reason why I continue to read your posts. You seem to have upset a few people on here, but I'm not one of them (even though I could take offence at your description of non sports fans )

Use your brain and you can get a free box each time you change and cash from the likes of Quidco.

I have a friend who got three free Sky+HD boxes just by ringing and asking could they match a deal , I'm not saying you'll always get these deals. I got £120 through Quidco when I last signed up for Sky and I believe VM were offering similar offers a while back , you can get all sorts as a new customer of any off these firms.
