Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 3.
Yesterday I was told, by the man with the Crystal Palace icon, that Virgin not getting BT Sport was good great business for Virgin. This was said with a straight face, and everybody agreed with him bar me and one other football fan. This forum is mental. Proper looneybin stuff this. Reading this as a sports fan: It's so bad, people are so wrong, people are so misinformed, that it is in a roundabout way impossible to look away. I have to read these posts out of morbid curiosity more than anything else. My favourite moments were equating Live Barclays Premier League football to reruns of 24. This did happen. Nick HD as suitable replacement for BT Sport. This happened. And being told, and I quote, BT Sport not coming to Virgin makes perfect business sense. That happened.

There really was no need to post in such a manner, take a chill pill and calm down. This applies to everyone else as well, this thread spends a lot of its time looking like a kids playground. You would not (I hope) act like this in public, so dont act like it here.

British Satellite Broadcasting has The Sports Channel which survived a little while under the Sky Sports umbrella after the takeover... Power was music and Galaxy was great fun. Remember the pic quality seeming very good on the old United Artists Cable...

Mark, a mod on VM forum, states that 'talks are going down to the wire' - does this mean down to 6pm today?

Hi, I've been keeping an eye on this forum for a few days now. I couldn't resist getting involved in all the speculation. I know some of you probably won't agree with me but I think Virgin Media are playing their cards well. I know some of you may want BT Sport right now but I truly believe that it will be here sooner rather than later.

Doesn't say talks are going down to the wire though, does it. He says in my experience talks sometimes go down to the wire. Big difference. One is current, a definite statement of fact. the other is simply speculation of what might happen in future.

I've gotta admit, it is a good sign. Just going to have to play the waiting game now.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 3.
What a complete and utter mess all of this bt sport fiasco is causing!!, haven't posted on here in almost a year have been on the dark side! but I am coming back..............possibly.
Scanned for any new channels through my dvb-c samsung tv and only found 2 channels testing on tuesday 30/7, it didn't say what they were just 'hidden'
So, things have changed quite a bit in nearly 12 months, but I see Virgin's stupid games haven't.
Sky atlantic should be here by now at least in SD, and well, bt sports what do we expect?

Go along with that bud, think vm are playing the waiting game but are also taking a massive gamble,If what i am reading on twitter/Facebook is true and of course what I heard this morning they are losing customers.
The chap i spoke to in retentions did say to me he felt bt sports will arrive but they are getting best deal for us as we'll as them hence the delay

Well lets see John as we seem to have more rumours then we get on the back pages of a sports paper.

Well, if that's the way Virgin are doing it, they are thinking about the customers they have. Although not everybody will take up BT Sport, the ones will want it will get it at the best price whether that be included in XL or as an odd-on package who knows but regarding that nothing major starts until August 17, they're using their bargaining tool and it probably will work.
