Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 3.

They don't care about broadband customers specifically, they care about triple play much like VM do - thats where the money is made. BT Vision should now enable that, but there is no incentive for anyone to take it - enter BT Sports.

Not sure that is true. Though isn't broadband pure profit, other than the outlay to connect the customer?
Sorry, my knowledge is limited, and too lazy to search for it

But on point of customer, I hop around, depending on what is on offer.

I can see me moving from BT when the contract period ends, perhaps back to Sky

The thing with BT is they billions available to them un-like setanta and ESPN so they can easily ride out any losses for the next 3 years then bid higher when the next set of rights become available to bid for and win more packages of Sky

A bigger package does not guarantee quality

Same argument I used to use with my gf...albeit she still went for the bigger package

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 3.

Don't understand people talking about non disclosure agreements so bt can get as many customers as possible before virgin come out and say they have bt sports. If I wanted the channel and called up to disconnect I have to give a months notice and if it comes next week I could just cancel disconnection and stay with virgin!

There is no guarantee that BT Sports will appear from launch as yet. Think of it like the purchase of new technology, it's often cheaper to buy a time after the launch of a product. Those who buy it straight away pay a premium. The first important game on BT Sports is on 17 August...

Channels that are testing off the EPG can be detected by using an unauthorised box or a TV that can accept cable transmissions direct. Only the FTA channels will actually be viewable.

As a shareholder of BT, I concur with the view of VM that broadband is more profitable than the pay TV market.

Pay TV is basically used as a sweetener or convenience factor for the customer.
