You are correct sir, however MTV's website also says VM carry MTV Classic. I doubt the UKTV website will be wrong and we will get it soon enough, but you never know!!

Charming!

Whatever happened to 'the customer is king?'. If this is seriously the way that the market is going, the Government needs to do something about it. If VM has the money for the channel it should be allowed to buy it.

I'm off to Sainsbury's to get some shopping now. I wonder what I can use for leverage this week.....

Although as Old Boy points out, you're the customer. And since Sainsburys apologised to, and compensated, the woman in question, it appears they understand that too. Shame she felt the need to run to the press...

Ummm! thanks for clearing that up.

I've a feeling the customers they are most interested in are newly acquired BT Infinity broadband subscribers and not Virgin Media.

BT are firstly wanting to take back the broadband customers it is losing to Sky, it also does want customers off VM for its own fibre bb. Of course BT is looking after its own business first, it is business.

BT also do want to keep VM customers happy because it will also get money of every single person on the VM network who views BT sport and it will get advertising revenue also. BT are also the national telephone and BB provider so it would be bad publicity not to include VM customers when it offers BT sport. It will also be very good publicity and PR when BT sport is showing on one of its rival competitors in the way of VM who apparently are getting a good deal.

When BT go into a battle with Sky they also by law have to do battle with VM as well. VM isn't a special case that no company is allowed to compete with for customers but they also must be taken into consideration.

Competition laws, all companies must operate in a competitive manner at all times. Failure to do this is called collusion, and is punishable in a court of law for not allowing market forces to run the market.

Everything you say Bomber just makes no sense. Competition law does not state what you said above, it states that you must provide fair competition.

Yes, and it also says that you must be competitive. You cannot collude with other companies to fix prices or to get customers, so as such BT have to compete with VM as much as Sky. Competition law does not state that you shall give competitors products when you are competing with others. You have to provide Competition as you say and that means you must and can compete with all companies. So providing BT aren't being uncompetitive by either not offering a product or charging more for your product to one than another they are being competitive. BT are selling their sport channels to Sky customers on their own so they can be charged either £12 or £15, VM customers use the VM network which is private so they need to have a deal done via VM whereas Sky customers don't. This means that VM can buy wholesale from BT and get a deal similar to the one you had with ESPN. BT doesn't need to do a deal with Sky customers like that because the network or system Sky use isn't owned by Sky.
