Re: Will you be going Digital or Disc

Digital seems to be the new thing and I don't see much wrong with it, but I prefer to have something solid for the money, saves downloading and the all that hassle if I want to take it elsewhere as well. And I could sell on if needed so I think I'd always opt for the disk every time.

Re: Will you be going Digital or Disc

Disc as digital might need a connection.

Plus I like to have physical media.

Sorry but that's absolute rubbish , you obviously no nothing about the industry , i will agree when it comes to games like call of duty when they spew the same rubbish just adding new maps and über amounts of killstreaks but the smaller games developers really struggle with the current way things are run.

Re: Will you be going Digital or Disc

the cost of discs does not add much to the cost of the product they 2 a penny as the saying goes, so not having them wont reduce the price

as to industry costs well they need to reduce them if they are spending more than they make

EA (though not liked much ) made huge gains and even more profits than 2011 with turnover of over $4billion and quite a nice profit of over $200million

and little Mojang making around $50million in net profits

its possible to make games and as the latter shows give them away and make money

Re: Will you be going Digital or Disc

There is a lot more to a physical disc than the disc itself. If you have digital only they will be cheaper than a product that is available physical and digital as they have to balance out the costs.

Re: Will you be going Digital or Disc

Can't see that happening. These days everyone is going on about how they doubt MS and Sony will have digital as cheaper like Steam has but most people forget that Steam used to be expensive crap when it launched.
