Re: The Scottish Football Thread

Hearts, the club who have lived out with their means, brought the game into disrepute by not paying taxes and are insolvent pen a begging letter, fire sale notice and suicide note all in one.

Quote:
Due to recent unexpected circumstances away from Tynecastle, the club is now experiencing a shortfall in funding. This shortfall, due to recent uncertainty, has created a significant noticeable blockage in projected revenue streams for the club.

While this hesitation is understandable it is unwittingly damaging the club's current efforts to improve its financial situation including current payments to HMRC and raising doubts over future payments to players and staff.

It is now crucial to the football club that we find a solution to bring in enough finance to allow us to trade into the new season when normal trading can resume with the benefit of SPL and game-related income streams. The payments to HMRC and players/staff salaries are the most important issues in our focus these days where very limited time remains available to the club.

However given that the revenues for season tickets has dried up and no other realistic income is available quickly enough, the club will consider offers for the players of the current squad, including the most promising talent in order for the most necessary and important payments to be made. The board had planned to bring income in through the sale of players while considering the financial forecast for next season but now this will need to happen much earlier in order to preserve the business. We understand that this will lead to significant on-field pressure but at all times we must consider the health of the club and preserve it for future generations.

We will adjust our expectations for the new season accordingly but will still be focused on the playing side of the business. Our financial deficit can, in part, be attributed to our worst league finish in over 30 years last season. This had a significant direct impact on the business. Other factors that hit revenues include the absence of Rangers Football Club from the SPL and significantly increased stadium costs particularly in relation to the Main Stand.

The biggest threat to the club at present however is hesitation and inaction. We hope that those supporters who have purposely held off will reconsider and make the decision to back the club in the best way possible in order that we can meet our targets.
Meet the targets for next season? Pre-selling all the apartments in the Gorgie heights housing developments? Hitting a new record of winding up notices issued to one club? Most under-17 players in a first team during a game.

I'm a perfectly happy and cheerful supporter of the most successful football club in the world.

Can't see why hertz are in trouble, the fans were going to flood back to all the other teams when big, bad Rangers got sent to the 3rd division.

Rangers, that would be the team that left lots of debt, started up as a newco, then claims it is the most successful club (wants to claim previous wins as continuous ) but still refuses to honour the debt it left

Oh, that Rangers

Yes the most successful club in the world who were stitched up by previous owners, the SPHell and paid all footballing debts. Also the same club that UEFA, FIFA, the ASA and everyone except the rhabids and fans of diddy teams accept is the same club.

Anyway embrace the future. Either see how green and white looks or save up for a bus ticket to Glasgow and you can come and see Rangers in all their magnificence.

Lmao, same club.....hahaha, most successful.

You can't claim that the newco is still entitled to all the old trophies and then not pay off all the debt.

Same club apparently.

I bet all 78 complaints where from fans of the second most successful team

Anyway things aren't looking any better for Hearts.

Not unexpected.

Fans will not want to buy tickets, while the future is so uncertain. But Club needs money over summer months.

And of course ownership of hearts is complicated (another country, uncertain owner)

Take the pain, receivership, whatever else comes, can't see anyone buying the club before they have to go into administration

Re: The Scottish Football Thread

I don't know why football fans are talking about Scottish football, as it is finished - totally.

They are merging both SFL and SPL into one, and there were a few objections to this deal, the other clubs that will make any money from this are the bigger clubs.

They say that clubs will benefit from this - how. Play Celtic every week. Hearts are now in trouble, how many more are going to go down the plug hole.

Yes, TV money will go into the clubs, what club is going to more coverage than anyone else - Celtic as they draw the bigger crowd, plus Rangers.

Its about time that Sky, BT Sports poured money into Scottish football, BUT they will select games that will draw the bigger viewer.

If you imagine a few years ago you had to pay an extra sub to watch say Chelsea play Utd and then you would have Aberdeen play Inverness, who would get the bigger viewer - have a guess.

Scottish football is finished.

Arthur, have you been living in a cave?

English clubs are equally going to the wall..some several times

The issue is the excessive wages some clubs try and pay to get success

Will some other clubs in Scotland be in trouble? Yes. Is it the death of Scottish football? No.

It just means clubs need to cut their cloth accordingly

Disappointing post by you

Re: The Scottish Football Thread

Here is an interesting situation. If Hearts do a Rangers, and go into liquidation, what then? After the SFA vote earlier this week, the 3rd division will no longer the bottom tier of Scottish football. Going forward we're going to have the Highland League and the Lowland League. These leagues could be in place by the end of this summer!

If Hearts go into liquidation between now and the end of this season they face a very, very long road back.

What is the rules?

Would they not just go to third division, and everyone else goes up one place?

Not sure they would be part of the lower leagues, actually, I would put money on it
