Of the trailers I've seen so far I like 'Almost Human' Fox , 'Blacklist' NBC , 'Sleepy Hollow' Fox , 'The Michael J. Fox Show' NBC. 'Dracula' a Sky/NBC co production also looks worth a look , I believe it will be aired on Sky Living.

I feel it's over-priced with far too many adverts, which should really be covering the bulk of their costs.
Sky could quite easily cut quite a considerable amount off their subscription rates for sport and still make a comfortable profit for future investments; ie buying rights, etc. Just because Sky have created an artificially high bidding system for sports does not give them retrospective right to over-charge in the first place.
If the lowered sub and wholesale costs, they would get more subscribers which would give then more power with advertisers. Might even balance out for them in the long term, and they come out looking better for it.
|
But you've got to consider how much you would pay if you went to the game £15 -£20 multiply that by 2 or 3 , take a European game. How much would that cost you a month....l think it's great value for money....IMHO

Super long shot at Really HD & Really +1, the timing makes sense with the new branding starting tomorrow.

By supplying any new launches to Virgin as part of the deal, Sky would then be in a better position to negotiate a deal for the channels with Virgin. We all saw the backlash when Sky One was removed and a lot of Virgin customers left the service because of that. I would imagine that the same would happen if people were enjoying a series, then half way through the series the channel was suddenly removed if the 12 months deal was not extended.
While Virgin customers are aware of Sky Atlantic a lot of people will not miss something they never had.

Perhaps it's the two radio channels that are on former Telewest areas only?? RTE is one, isn't the other the World Radio Network??
From the way they were talked about & played down, I assumed that they were shopping channels.
I can't check my box as I'm currently not at home.

I'd be happy to see RT. The only channel I still have to use Freeview to watch.

Say... what about Sky Poker? I'm watching it right now! If we gain a new deal with Sky, maybe one of the new minor channels will be Sky Poker.

If Virgin did sign a new deal with Sky the following channel may launch:
-Pick TV +1
-Sky1 +1
-Sky Poker
-Sky Sports News HD
-Sky News HD
And as you can see that more than two channels that may launch.

You are maybe 'fed up' with some channel that Virgin have added over the last few months.
But all the channels on Freeview plus Shopping Channels and Radio Channels pay Virgin Media money to get into Virgin and they reuse that money to get the good ones like ITV2 HD, Animal Planet HD and TCM HD online.

Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! I am SO looking forward to Sky Poker launching. We've not had a single interactive gaming channel since iPlay and Quiz Call closed on NTL some years ago. Thanks for that, MB! Three cheers for MB! Hip, hip...........................

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 2.
I have often wondered why Sky haven't taken steps to put Sky Poker onto VM. I'm assuming that they would have to pay VM to go onto their platform, but surely the extra customer base would be worth it.
Now that VM have extra capacity, perhaps they could offer to carry it for free, in return for Sky Atlantic at a more reasonable price? This would benefit all parties, including the customer.
Did anything launch early this morning, as that's when VM normally add any new channels?

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 2.
Surely one of the benefits of being a VM customer is NOT having Sky Poker.
