Re: BT Sports - Will you pay extra for it???
I think I might just get a freeview box and save money paying VM - I could save over £1K a year not paying VM.
I'll keep the broadband and that's it.

i'm sure vm realise they would have to do something with the xl pack in august when espn disappears, whether that be dropping the price or doing something at a decent price with bt sport

Re: BT Sports - Will you pay extra for it???
At the end of the day, VM customers will be paying for it. So l cannot see why VM dont just go in for it, they get other crap channels anyway - Afica, France 24 etc.

Yes because the broadcasters of The Africa Channel want £15 a month for it, its exactly the same scenario as BT Sport.

Sky could always open up a new channel to compete with BT, BUT Sky can blow BT out of the water, they are ten times better than BT. And with the price so high, l wont be going in for it. the price that Sky charge on VM is reasonable for the channels it supplies. ESPN wont last long as it will not suppl football.
I have no objections to paying £5.00 - but forget another SEVEN, no way. and dont forget two years ago didn't Sky freeze there prices due to the financial pressures on everyone, and yet BT want hard pressures on day to day life expect people to pay a high price for THREE channels.

Don't you think the BT sports channel might just be more popular?

Re: BT Sports - Will you pay extra for it???
If Virgin Wanted to compete they'd offer:
TV M - £5
TV L - £10
TV XL - £15
Sports - £21
Movies - £21
Sports & Movies - £39
HD - £5
You could get the equivalent to Sky World HD (minus Atlantic) for £59.
£6.75 cheaper than Sky.
At the moment XL is £29.50 and Sports & Movies £39.81 which makes it £69.31 which is actually £3.56 more expensive than Sky.

Re: BT Sports - Will you pay extra for it???
I have always said that l would not mind paying £5.00 per month extra - BUT only if it came with other channels - that what l said.
I have no objections to paying extra money, but l would not go mad. At the end of the day its US that will have to pay for what we want to watch, This is why l think VM wont put extra channels on as the customers won't pay extra money on VM.
Customers with what ever company do not have a bottomless pit of money to spend.

So they'd lose money on every TV package, what brilliant thinking.

How I understand the prices there is that they'd make a whopping loss more than ever, go bust and no channels at all never mind BT Sports or Atlantic?

So basically, Virgin are handicapped to never be able to offer lower prices than Sky?

That's what happens when you become a carrier rather than a broadcaster platform unfortunately mate.

More to the point virgin still haven't agreed a deal which is ridiculous. Whoever is the deal maker at VM clearly sees no point to rush.
