No signal throughout home & Aerial fine

Hi can anybody please help a damsel in distress? I have moved into a new Apt.
In lounge I had TV and Goodmans freeview box with the wires going into a built in like plug socket on wall for aerials. I had a splitter attached ( I think) in order my bedroom aerial socket worked?
All has worked fine till now, few months down the line every TV says No signal. My tv will work in another apt which excludes the fault of the aerial I guess. I have also tried an alternate aerial lead.
Can anybody offer any suggestions please.

Try taking the splitter off, and connect a TV direct to the socket in the lounge, to see whether the splitter is faulty.

If it still doesn't work, probably the wiring to your apartment is broken. It's also possible that you and the other apartment don't share an aerial. Either way you'll need the landlord or an aerial technician to fix it.

ps. Welcome to the forum!

Re: No signal throughout home & Aerial fine

Thank you so much 'spiderplant', I must be getting clever in my old age! Yes I tried TV direct to box hole on wall and still the same. It's defo not the TV as it lets me watch taped programmes from a freeview box.
As usual Management agencies charge high fees and cannot be bothered. ' oh if it's just yours TV, it will be a fault in you apt, in which case you will be charged' Grrrrr. I am glad you have said its possible we do not all share the same aerial (18 Apts, 3 story high.)
Also such a lot have sky, but I tried my TV in there apt and it worked except for BBC? However it confirms my TV works. Thanks again.

Re: No signal throughout home & Aerial fine

Many blocks of flats have a communal aerial system, i.e. one aerial on the roof, wired to a central amplifier / splitter that then connects to the individual flats. If something has gone wrong with that central amplifier one flat may have service whilst another doesn't. The block management should have a maintenance contract in place for such centralised systems.

Of course if they do call out the central aerial company and they trace the fault to your own TV kit then there might be a recharge.

You say that you did not get BBC when you tried your TV in their apt.

Try retuning your TV

Thanks to Spider Plant again, and Rob. After much perseverance with Wimpy, searching for specifications, it appears we do have 'splitters' and lo and behold another Apt, has just complained. Aerial man on his way
Thank you to all for your help.
