What l reckon will happen is that BT Sports will have no choice but to reduce its price, as no one will want it at £12.00 per month.
Sky could always open up a new channel to compete with BT, BUT Sky can blow BT out of the water, they are ten times better than BT. And with the price so high, l wont be going in for it. the price that Sky charge on VM is reasonable for the channels it supplies. ESPN wont last long as it will not suppl football.

I have no objections to paying £5.00 - but forget another SEVEN, no way. and dont forget two years ago didn't Sky freeze there prices due to the financial pressures on everyone, and yet BT want hard pressures on day to day life expect people to pay a high price for THREE channels.

 | Many people were saying Sky wouldn't succeed when they first started up and they made losses for many years.

I don't subscribe to Sky Sports as to me it's way too much money, don't subscribe to Sky Movies either, again too much money. Not saying I can't afford to pay, I just refuse the rip-off prices as not value for money.

 | Yup, some people on here are thinking that the price is, however it is not that much more expensive than ESPN (£13 on Sky last time I checked), you get 3 HD channels and now top quality rugby, as well plenty of football from around the world (if that is your thing). If BT are able to add some cricket to their channels, I will deffo take the channels. I am undecided whether I will take the channels, I will wait and see what happens. I may very well take the channels because for me it is a fairer price than Sky Sports and, in theory, will provide a better percentage of quality football games (top picks etc) than Sky. More importantly for me though, is the rugby being available at half the price.

I quite like the full line up BT has got so far and think it will help many more sports fans enjoy watch more sports at a much cheaper price than the over-priced and over-rated package from Sky. As you say, money is very tight for a lot of people at the moment and I think the low number of SS subscribers on VM indicates (imho) that Sky charge too much. The cheaper the price the better in my eyes.

You make a good point about BT putting pressures on day to day life, but people could easily save money by dropping SS and taking BT Sport! If people are only interested in the Premiership, than I think it will be a great saving, considering how many dross games (I don't watch them but Sunderland v Wigan would not float my boat) that appear to be shown on Sky more and more frequently.

I'll leave you to dig yourself out of that one... | Yes, sorry about that. I've just noticed how that came across. I meant 'any more of my money' (ie than I am currently contributing to with ESPN).

I was just reviewing the shows myself on various websites, but your list is easier to scan through!

Here's hoping the cable networks come up with something interesting too, because lets face it, they have the more "interesting" stuff, ie Breaking Bad, sadly now gone and shows such as Game Of Thrones.

 | This is where Tivo's Whishlist feature comes into it's own; set up a Whishlist for any that you are interested in now and then you don't have to keep track of what is or what is not picked up in the UK as they will automatically get recorded if they are.

 | I fear Man City's bubble will burst now. Mancini is all but gone, and his replacement does not exactly inspire confidence or have a proven track record. City appear to have too many big names who are relied upon too heavily. For all the money Man City have spent, they have really poor depth in the squad (imho.) Having said that I support Cambridge United and my football knowledge could easily be questioned |
