Even BARB is useless now, if you have a BARB device they say you represent 5000 homes. It still takes it stats the way it did when most homes had 1 TV and 4 channels.
We have 5 TV's in our house, hundreds of channels and Sky, Virgin, Roku and xbox's. So there are times when all 4 of us are watching something different as happened yesterday. Me football, my youngest in her room watching Sky Movies Disney, my oldest watching something from VM Ondemand and my Mrs watching some child birth/ Midwife recording on the TiVo.

Tonight was several programs at one time we had Sky 1 , Sky Atlantic, E4 and Roku on. The days of Dad saying what the family watch are long gone. If the BARB device reports the main TV was tuned to BBC what about the other 2 TV's tuned to Sky Atlantic?

When there was just 3 channels didn't they used to estimate viewers with power station data as people stuck the kettle on in breaks or at the end of a programme?
Let me feel good about pirating something I already pay for fgs! I delete after watching so there is an extra brownie point to be earned |

"More than 30,000 viewing devices are monitored across the panel of over 5,100 homes, including PVRs, DVDRs and VCRs, as well as standard set-top boxes."

The final viewing figures were collected by interviewing people in the street about their previous day's viewing, but it would take several days to process the results.

Here's how viewing measurement is actually done:
http://www.barb.co.uk/resources/refe...hat-we-do?_s=4 | Agreed although Sky does have its own viewer panel Sky View encompassing some 33,000 Sky digital homes , it also has its own ad sales arm Sky Media who sell ads for the Sky channels plus many more.

Some interesting rumours going around on investment boards that BSkyB trying to figure out how they can purchase EE if France/Deutsch Telecom put it up for sale as expected.
If they can get the financing it would make BSkyB the biggest media and telecoms player in the UK by a huge margin - it also means VM would be an MVNO of Sky! Barmy.

Just back in the house, turned on the SKY+ box and got a message about updates that had been rolled out. Before I could read the message, my wife turned the channel over
What updates got rolled out today?

What updates got rolled out today? | Your box has probably just received the update to enable BB connectivity , not much change for you as you have multiroom your boxes for the time being still have to be connected to a working landline however customers with single boxes can now just connect their boxes to the Internet as this update enables callbacks and Sky Store purchases over broadband.

Just saved my self £4.40 but not cancelling Sky Moves. I just rang up Sky to cancel MUTV and Sky Movies and MUTV will be cancelled in 31 days and Sky gave me a discount if i dont cancel Sky Movies and excluding MUTV i am now saving £4.40 if i dont cancel. Oh and discount runs until end of May 2014. Thank you Sky |
