Cheers Jameseh, it's now a relatively a small list. If we take out SS3/4/F1 and Sky Atlantic HD (which I doubt we will ever get), Nat Geo HD which have, and the very small possibility that BT will not save ESPN America, the list is even better. I would happy if we just got Nat Geo Wild HD

Out of interest, is there likely to be much loss of quality from transcoding from MPEG4 to MPEG2, or is enough bandwidth allocated to make the issue moot?

Anyway, it's unlikely we'll get NHK or RT as Virgin seem to be unwilling to launch news channels in HD, except for Sky News HD, which will be of any use at all. Also, Disney Jr HD will be interesting; if Nickelodeon launch Nick Jr HD or if the BBC launch CBeebies HD, then at least the infants will be pleased with all the pretty colours. Oooh! Aguerooooooooooooooooooo! MCFC 3-2 QPR

Ha! my kids can go whistle for HD channels. It's bad neough they record umpteen episodes of Jake and the Neverland Pirates and Handy Manny, I don't need my hard drive filled up even more!

Thanks Mediaboy for the heads-up on the coming itvHD Channels.
It looks like Virgin got their release dates mixed up, and not the rumoured rubber cheque.

Nothing to do with release dates either, sebastion. It was a technical problem, relating to transcoding from MPEG4 to MPEG2 according to spiderplant.

Well, it all goes to show, you don't know what you're getting until you've got it with VM. They are a furtive bunch! But hey, maybe they didn't like to call you in the middle of the night!

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 1.
All this hype on HD channels, all it is is a sharper picture. If VM customers are not careful VM will start to have a separate package like Sky does.
I like other members want new channels placed onto the network, not just HD

Are they any 'Got to have' SD Channels broadcasting on other network?
Only two I can think of:
Food Network
Sony Movies
