Going for a French connection this morning with an overview of the financial results for the #Ligue1 2011/12 season.

#Ligue1 highest profit Lille €6m, Ajaccio €3m, Montpellier €2m, largest loss Lyon €37m, Auxerre €16m, Bordeaux €15m

#Ligue1 highest revenue: PSG €222m, Marseille €137m, Lyon €132m, Lille €80m. League winners Montpellier only €55m.

#Ligue1 gate receipts: only 3 clubs with more than €7m annual revenue (PSG €25m, Marseille €18m, Lyon €18m)

#Ligue1 TV revenue - importance of Champions League is clear at top 3 clubs: Lyon €72m, Marseille €71m & Lille €58m.

#Ligue1 sponsorship & publicity revenue - big gap between top 3 (Marseille €30m, PSG €25m, Lyon €24m) & other clubs.

#Ligue1 other revenue: PSG €125m stands out (retroactive agreement for Qatar Tourist Authority “publicity campaign”).

#Ligue1 largest profits on player sales made by Lille €54m, thanks to sales of Eden Hazard, Gervinho and Moussa Sow.

#Ligue1 highest wage bills: PSG €117m, Lyon €99m, Marseille €98m, Lille €88m, Bordeaux €55m.

#Ligue1 some high wages to turnover ratios: Auxerre 117%, Lille 109%, Nice 85%, Bordeaux 85%, Caen 84%. PSG only 53% (high reported revenue)

Yes its a bugbear of mine in that we get our young players to play too many games when they have not developed enough physically as a player when they are younger.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

thats what happens when you do the same thing over and over again with ultimately the same results, insanity. every man and his dog knew all we needed was a player or two extra in 08 but such is the mans deluded state and lack of senior figures around him to tell him to sign those players he was instead allowed to run into a circle of frustration, only now its set well within the club and no one seems to know how to get out of the mess. fools! burn out the classy players instead until they get fed up and leave.
