that doesn't make sense. plus its not possible for Arsenal to throw a load of cash. its about picking the right quality. Wenger lets the quality pass by while picking crap which leads to your comments such as no more Ligue 1 players for a start

It does make sense. Picking players with experience in the Premier League is a safer bet than picking ones from a league where the defenders work at a slower pace. If there is a great player out there in Ligue 1 then that's fine but it's a risker market as you'll be unsure of how they'll adapt. You either take a risk or buy expensive players. There are good players who don't cost a lot but they're much harder to find. After all if they were a sure thing then people would be willing to pay a lot more.
Also I agree it's about picking the right quality - I don't think anyone disagrees with that. However players don't come with 'right quality' stamped on their foreheads. You have to find them. That's the hard part.

I don't know. Ashley Williams has been mentioned by The Guardian. I think that's not a bad shout as he has Premier League experience and plays in a team who play in a similar way to Arsenal, high lines and lots of passing. If I knew someone I could be sure of then I would be a scout .
I find defenders one of the hardest positions to judge because their skill can largely depend on the rest of their team. Stoke defend aggressively as an entire team, with the midfield behind the ball and disciplined lines. This helps their defenders. Arsenal defend with a high line and the midfield attack more leaving them exposed. It's harder to defend when you have players running like a bullet towards your goal. Additionally TV is awful at letting you judge players anticipation and positioning. A defensive interception on TV often looks like a misplaced pass from the opposition because the camera didn't show you the defender anticipation that pass and getting into position. This is one of the reasons I really rate Koscielny, it doesn't come across on TV but his reading of the game really is excellent. You watch him in the stadium and see how often and how quickly he responds to a danger and snuffs it out, it's impressive.

Michael Laudrup signs fresh Swansea deal.

Well that should keep Russ happy.

forgot to mention Usmanov could actually do more to stir things up. his open letter was on point, the second release was though not needed at the time. apart from the second slip up he hasnt really done much to disrupt. Arsenal officials have done that all themselves.

everythings a risk. again its about buying the right quality. there is quality in Ligue1. There is quality in other leagues. Its about buying that quality instead of flops. other clubs are buying the quality, why is Wenger opting for flops instead? there on pretty big wages too if you compare what other clubs have signed on what wages those players are on.
fans power. this decline.

I think everyone is agreed on quality actually. So moving the conversation forward. How can we ensure we get quality? Especially if we can't throw money at a sure thing?

How will fan power get him to sell the shares? What mechanism is in place? Fan power didn't remove the United owners and it was the banks who eventually got rid of Liverpool's owners. Blackburn's owners are still there.

buy worthwhile qaulity not flops. whatever guideline used to sign players needs looking at again. how an earth have players moved to non CL clubs while we're left with nothing or flops, nothing same thing.

Utd had Fergie. Liverpool are a mess. Blackburn are mess too. Arsenal are a mess or becoming a real mess if things continue. I don't like Ivan, he looks to the Liverpool model, ******. we may well be going down the route if the current bullcrap continues! time for change, if it means pushing people out then so be it. the AST etc. isn't on best terms with the board anymore, they dont care anymore, they did use to think twice butno more, out with the comments straight away. pressure is growing and Usmanov is waiting to pounce

No we do need quality players. How can we ensure we get them though? That's why I am more inclined to get defenders from the Premiership.

PHW out, Ivan out, Stan becomes a loner in an environment he wont be able to survive in. seriously, Usmanov offering 20+k a share but its all about timing.

Hearing The consortium will be making a bid to buy out Kronke and then Usmanov will join them. Usmanov will be the face of the club.

Apparently Usmanov is close to getting into the Saudi construction market and a Saudi Prince with others wants to join Usmanov at Arsenal.

If these forces remove Stan and join to form a team then rest assured this club would be bank rolled to high heaven! That said I do want Dein involved, Bob Wilson in as well to keep The Arsenal front going and of course safety.
