I need cheap broadband. Any recommendations?
Hi everyone,
I'm moving to an area without cable and I can't get BT Fibre so I basically have just a BT point.
I'm not interested in TV so don't need it and don't use the phone very often.
I'm trying to find a package that will offer a broadband connection and line rental for less than £20 per month or if pushing it something around that.
Anyone know of anything?
Thanks for your help,
halcyon.

Re: I need cheap broadband. Any recommendations?
I find SKY's service pretty good however I'm lucky that I get a stable 15mb connection. It's £10.00 per month for the unlimited broadband plus £14.50 for phone rental. A little out of your budget however SKY are offering the broadband completely free for the first 6 months. It's a 12 month contract. Over a year you'll pay £234 which works out at £19.50 per month so the 6 months free at the start means you'll actually come in under budget
It's not for everyone but worth a look.

It's virtually impossible to get broadband over a BT type line, even if that line is supplied through an unbundled (LLU) provider, without the phone rental. Essentially ADSL works over the phone line connection so nobody really want's to separate the two.

Thanks for your replies.
I saw BT offer a similar package to Sky too but so far Sky do seem good.

Plusnet are one of the cheaper ones, although they do have a lot of restrictions

Re: I need cheap broadband. Any recommendations?
if you don't need the line rental and you live in a good signal area, why not purchase a sim only deal with Three and all-you-can-eat-data for £25 per month?
you can use your phone to tether as much as you like plus use it for calls too.

Cheapest seems to be talktalk (half price offer of £3.25).
Or Primus if 20GB will do http://www.primussaver.co.uk/agent/t...adband-sp.html
£15.19 per month (line & broadband) though you can cut the overall cost a bit more with prepaid line rental

Do you have a mobile phone with Orange/T-Mobile/EE? They've got 6 months free at the minute https://broadband.ee.co.uk/home.do for everyone plus you get your fiver discount after the 6 months if you have mobile

I agree , I can only get ADSL at my house through my BT line however my line with Sky has been rock solid granted it only manages 9mb but that's consistent and provides me a hassle free experience it will certainly do until BT upgrade my exchange.

Re: I need cheap broadband. Any recommendations?
It looks like I'll be going with Sky.
Found a good deal: Internet, phone (free weekend calls) and 284 channels for £10.90 for first six months increasing to £21.50 after that.
