Peru: Dozens Of Dead Sea Creatures Washed Up
Quote:
The bodies of 18 sea turtles, 22 sea lions, eight dolphins, 16 sharks and 22 marine birds are found on the coastline of Peru.
While officials have yet to conclusively pinpoint a cause, some of the possible explanations include viruses, offshore oil exploration, or poisoned food sources.

Or sonar interference possibilty.
There is problem with the food system phytoplankton. There reports its declined by 40%.
http://www.theecologist.org/News/new...l_warming.html
Although dont think its global warming argument. I more inclined to believe the mainy morine human accidents such eron oil spill the big one in america the reason.
Espicially BP's this destroyed alot areas would naturally caused phytoplnkton shortage. It was massive spill remember they said vast parts ocean became dead zones.
This maybe tiping point might be mass starvation.
The other is possible suicede runs but usually it dont have cross species.

The Panama Canal is nearly 1100 miles from Lambayeque, Peru...

That part is potentially true, however the 'and Panama Canal' section less so....

sorry thought peru was closer to the panama cannel my mistake.
I have been thinking many years back toxic waste was dumped often in drums.
I wonder when you see ships start to erode wonder if this what issue is. How long would take for those drums to leak. Can they leak and contaminate or they specially sealed to prevent it.

Re: Peru: Dozens Of Dead Sea Creatures Washed Up
Another probable explanation is the release of methane gas after earth quakes.
