MB how reliable is Technix as a source of information? The thing none of us know is when carriage deals are up for renewal, Was this the case with TCM HD if so in the future if it is the right price we will get channels like History HD?

Technix seems reliable, he did post the channel numbers for TCM HD etc. before they arrived.

He has got all the info he posted right over the year - but we may need to wait up to three weeks for them to appear.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 1.
-Animal Planet HD
-Animal Planet +1
-Discovery Home & Health +1
-Discovery Knowledge +1
-Discovery Science +1
-DMAX +1
-DMAX +2
-Investigation Discovery
-Quest +1
I wonder what the viewing figures are for that lot! Don't get me wrong i like the animal type programmes, particularly the excellent "Africa" with Mr Attenborough, but do the above come up to that standard?

Wonder no more. Apart from Animal Planet HD, they are all listed here

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 1.
Animal planet has similar figures to Sky Sports 4 but if somebody posted a rumour that was coming in hd this site would go into meltdown! Personally I watch a couple of things on animal planet so I'm not going to sniff at the possible arrival of the hd version.

Sky Atlantic 606,000 (Average Daily Reach)

5 USA +1 340,000 (Average Daily Reach)

(from http://www.barb.co.uk/viewing/weekly...g-summary?_s=4)
I dont think Sky will let us have Atlantic anytime soon, its doing just a little better than 5 USA+1!
Its still a healthy 1.29% of the audience share, which is enough for them to find it viable.

The question is whether the value of it attracting and retaining customers outweighs the lost wholesale and advertising revenue. The BARB figures can't answer that.
