Wowzers, I have never had that many movies recorded, good effort . I agree about channel 4 and 5, I have found Channel 4 and Film 4 have some real classics from the 40's and 50's at lunch time too (although b/w films are not to everyones tastes.) Much like Sy-Fy, I find the horror channel has the odd horror gem, alas though they are not HD

I have found that BBC Two has starting broadcast movies from 1930's to late 1940's in the early morning - from about 6am.

To be fair, nobody cares but them. If XP ends up as largely HD channels it just puts meat on the bones of their argument, I'd just prefer not to hear the mantra repeated too often.
But with XP losing a batch of its channels to M+, it does need beefing up a little with something new. There's still probably a significant number of XP users without HD.

Do they ever show Laurel & Hardy or Marx Brothers films? Used to watch these with my Grandad back in the very early 80's. It's been a long time since I've sat down and watched a classic. Can anyone else remember when they colourised old Laurel & Hardy movies about 25 years ago? It really put me off the films.

I don't recall them ever showing Laurel and Hardy or Marx Brothers, but they probably do slip the odd one in now and agian.
They probably colourised them make it more "appealing" to "younger" viewers . It fails horribly in my eyes. I could even make it through 10 mins of Alastair Sim's Scrooge movie when I saw that colourised.
I would guess the boxsets of all the Laurel and Hardy movies are dirt cheap to buy now though

Again goes to show how bad virgins network is compared to sky.

So bad that Netflix have named VM as the UK's best ISP for streaming their content:

Can't deny that.

Was there singing and dancing by any chance? Movies from the 30's and 40's loved a good song and dance routine.

Yeah, that was horrible.
SKY have got loads of niche channels broadcasting in wacky aspect ratios. Trying to watch them on a big TV is pretty painful.
