Will the change of name affect the series links already set for ITV1?

I wonder why the TiVo needs to be told to connect to the network? My older V+ does it automatically when I reboot it

No.
But viewers in Scotland using BBC One HD will need to reset all the series links for Channel 108*.
*BBC One HD is no longer broadcasting in Scotland - BBC One Scotland HD is.

Good. I missed it when they removed it. I used to watch it on a Saturday morning when they showed a load of episodes of Time Team. Having the +1 version was useful when I slept in as I didn't have to miss out on any episodes.

Was this in the days before video recorders had been invented?

Are you sure about this? We didn't have to reset any here in NI when 108 changed from BBC1HD to BBC1NIHD.
