The lot we have now we bought a couple of years ago after the last big freeze depleted our stock and I'm hoping we won't have too much cause to use it this year. Wikes are selling it at £4.99 (25kg) at the moment. | Well according to the Daily Fail jog its looks like for the North there are several cold weeks ahead from the weekend.

Well as long as my council grits the road and my 30 minute journey doesn't become a 3-1/2 hour journey to hell like last time.

Example - Grit from Asda (£2.49 for 2kg)
Smartprice Cat Litter (£1.58 for 10lt) | It is cheaper, but people doing this in 2010, I think it was, caused a national shortage of cat litter |

Or what about getting a 20/25kg bag of sharp sand (currently £1.81 per bag at B&Q) and use bag of cooking salt (or other cheap salt).Spreading sand first then sprinkle salt on top, beats spending £6/£8 - 20/25kg bag of rock salt.
