I will yet again be on the phone to them today but it's hard work as its an overseas call centre and the line quality is not good for me as I wear hearing aids.

Why should he? He has a legal key that he has paid for, and this is Microsoft's issue.

because the EULA which you agree to says so

This agreement governs your rights to use the upgrade software and replaces the agreement for the software from which you upgraded. Re: [MERGED] Windows 8 discussion

I found that and it does give you an arguement but the EULA makes it clear though and you did agree to it. You know me I am no fan of how M$ licence their software. You pay for it but its never yours. I hate it its capitalism to the core so I do not tend to pay for OS's and screw them but your wasting money on calls and getting yourself stressed without need

And dude when you ever given a toss about copyright lol lol

The calls are 0800 and sometimes you just have to stick to your guns because the attitude of the first person i spoke to made me so sodding annoyed.

Re: [MERGED] Windows 8 discussion

So what if I'm installing it on a machine that had 7 pre-installed? My computer was only switched on for about 3 minutes before I put 8 on it and now I've gone back to 7, everything is working fine. So if I went back to 8 again then returned to 7 in the future what is likely to happen?

well if you recover using pre installed OS them there is a chance nothing untoward will happen as the OS does not need to be activated. As I said I made my own system image prior to install

Yeah that's what I thought. When I started the computer up for the first time it did not ask to be activated or anything.

When I installed 8 I selected the 'keep nothing' option but when it started up for the first time it had the 'Build 9200' message in the bottom corner even though I'd entered my serial ok. Turns out I'd reached my 'install limit' or whatever for that key so I had to activate by phone which worked but was a pain in the b'tox.

Any resolution on your windows 7 key? as your posts have really put me off risking my legit Windows 7 now.

I will probably do Tiz work around before the £15 deal expires though.

They are adamant they will NOT give me my key back. Its the last time i ever PAY for a micro$oft product again . So i will use the key i have been given and Microsoft can go forth in short jerky movements from now. The windows 8 POSS has now been uninstalled
