SuperHub question

Hi folks,

Just a quick question, can you lay the superhub on its side instead of it being upright? Is there a cradle for it to fit in?

Regards

Re: SuperHub question

It's designed to stand upright so that the wireless antennae are in the correct orientation, not that it makes a lot of difference

Its designed to stand up for aesthetic purposes, the antennae actually point backwards, i.e. lying it on its front would be better for wireless transmission

Re: SuperHub question

ok, thanks. I was looking at the SH this morning, and I noticed it had 4 slots on the ethernet connection side of SH. Just wonder what the slots are for.

lol, I know there are 4 gigaports on the back, look above, where you have the sticker, look to the left and right sides of the sticker and you will see 4 slots, 2 either side.

Re: SuperHub question

Our superhub at work was supplied with wall mount brackets that use those slots. Looks a bit silly suspended on a wall when the stand remains on the bottom that you can't remove unless you start dismantling the case.

Re: SuperHub question

the 2 screws either side of the ethernet ports unscrews only the stand, no "taking apart" involved

im guessing the mounts are only supplied with the business package then?

Re: SuperHub question

The wireless is most useable if you hang the wretched thing from a lampshade in the middle of the room.

If you can't do that, somehow fixing it upside down would slightly improve wireless.

Re: SuperHub question

Haha.

The Superhub actually has some of the most even, and unidirectional wireless coverage I've seen, and is near enough a perfect sphere (except where the mainboard is blocking it, duh).

Course by design this means only one antenna is covering most directions and lots of wireless devices' firmware/drivers don't like that...
