Sorry but you're going to have to point out to me where I have refused to accept someone else's opinion. I may have countered their opinion with my own but that, of course, is an entirely different thing and this is, after all, a discussion forum. If we all agree with each other it wouldn't be quite as busy

Oh, and bold type is used to highlight the bit one wants to reference in a quote; for context and clarity.
I made an observation your response was Can and do, from £39.50. So what was your point?

My point was this is something that no one else offers so why don't they push it ie broadband, bbc I player, on demand no phone line required

There will be no further personal remarks about other CF members.IF anyone has a problem with a member, either ignore them through the ignore function, or report any behaviour/comments that break the sites T&Cs.

Actually it might be a good idea if everyone had a perusal of the T&Cs to remind themselves what sort of behaviour to avoid.

Wow, £14.99 just for landline rental, seriously thinking about ditching virgin here.

14.50 with Sky and 15.45 with BT - they are all as bad as each other

While the documented price for landline will be £14.99, you almost certainly pay a lot less when you take a second and third service from Virgin Media.

For example:

Standalone 30Mb BB is £22.50
30Mb BB plus landline is £28.40

The cost of the landline is, therefore, £5.90. Please note that these are current, pre-increase prices.

I have given a simple example, your package is likely to be very similar.

The Line Rental saver option is staying at £120 even after the price increase

If the line rental stays at that price after the price increases it will be one of the best around at the moment

Thanks for the tip, if I decide to stay with VM, I shall go down this route.

Re: The price of your Virgin Media service is going up

Me and my house mate are now leaving VM because of this price hike.

To be fair with us its not so much the cost but the other issues we had with BB and massively high utilisation and the constant moving fix date . Youtube to is a massive pain on VM and also my Vodafone Sure signal struggles with some kind of software on the Superhub. (Confirmed on the Voda forums)

The TV i never used so much as I already have Sky. But we have a V-box in my sons room which he liked. I had no issue with the tv or phone. Just the BB. We saw this opportunity to cancel and hopefully move over to pastures new.

Re: The price of your Virgin Media service is going up

With the ever increasing rate on line rental its no wonder there is little to no investment in FTTP.

As a VM customer, I will be ditching the phone service and once Sky fibre arrives then I am ditching BB also. So much for the free speed doubling (oops, 20mb) as I will soon be getting a 2nd price increase yet still no 120mb upgrade despite the upgrade works being completed in July.

Sky's is still £118.40 for the year.
Although ( tbh I am a cynical sky employee!) it will probably rise in December after the line rental has increased, but I would imagine this will be the same for Virgin!

More info which you may not know:

Did you know that Sky are putting the boxset Library of the anytime+ content inside the premium HD pack at the end of May 2013?

This will surely annoy a lot of Virgin customers with the associated cut in content or increase in content price.
