Would an "upgrade" be free to Virgin or would it cost them ( i.e. as windows 7 to 8 costs users. As is pointed out so many times Virgin are a user of the service not the source supplier)

Not sure what you mean? VM will have an agreement with TiVo, just as they used to have an agreement with Liberate for the V boxes. This would include updates.
As to the costs and how it's structured, that would be a commercially negotiated agreement - one that won't be made public

So & I am not arguing here upgrades are "free" & part of the deal & not subject to negotiation (for that read payment).
I find that a bit silly on TiVo`s part & a great deal on Virgins Well they had to come out on top some time On the other hand if a payment is expected then I doubt that the upgrade will happen anytime soon ...........However perhaps ...... coming soon fits the bill!!!!

Why are you trying to make an issue out of something that isn't one. VM TiVo has had multiple updates since it launched, and will continue to do so.

Maybe he's worried about his Tivo share dividends?

Yes indeed as Victor's usually very vocal as we know.

Looks awful, much better as it is. Why change just for cosmetic reasons?

TiVo are the ones doing the development of the VM firmwares on an ongoing basis. Part of the deal is feature parity.

Did you not notice the mini TV screen that is now there but is not in the current SD menus?

Any clues as to what new updates might be in the pipeline?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Looks like there is still no set date for Multi-Room Streaming being enabled and it looks like next year before we see this one suspects.
