You dont understand, the line test, which tests the line from the master socket to the cabinet came back with a perfect score of 72, and no errors. So yes, you can tell if you have a perfect line

It turned out to be the kit at the exchange, the OR engineer connected me to a different port and its worked fine ever since, without any dropouts

Re: Where can I find out when my upload speed increases?

I had a complaint escalated regarding 120Mb in Leicester.

My VM homepage says its available and the checker says the same.

Had the run around with faults and customer services as I was on 100/5, eventually someone from e.complaints explained that I was on the wrong "code" (was on XXL, not 100 apparently). She changed this and now I have 100/10.

Couldn't give a time scale for 120 uplift though, (as is already well covered on here).

My concern is that I am getting sub 75Mb speedtests now, so any uplift generally will need work to be done.

I was hoping the LE3 outage last week was this, but no change yet.

Re: Where can I find out when my upload speed increases?

LE3 being a known oversubbed area and they are putting people on 10mbit upload pre upstream upgrades

yes is normal for this area

whack the speeds up when no capacity doesnt matter.

I was offered 60/6 for no price increase but rejected as had to commit to 18 months and I plan to leave in 2 months when got FTTC, and 120mbit (upload not specified) for a very small price increase, also rejected for same reason.

It was a 15 minute test that showed the line quality was perfect, the fact that im using the same line now without issue suggests its the broadband kit in the cabinet at fault

Dont hold your breath re FTTC, its already 2 months late (original RFS Sept 2012) Id expect the current Dec 2012 date to slip.

I think Ill be doing the same though as the peak speeds responsiveness are suffering again event hough the TBB graphs dont look that bad.

Re: Where can I find out when my upload speed increases?

Interesting the Openreach "when can I gets me some infinities" page now shows your cabinet location. Well, supposedly. Mine shows up inside someones house. On a council estate. That will work well.

Hmm, doesn't show cab locations for me... I wonder if the locations are postcode based?

Re: Where can I find out when my upload speed increases?

I checked 'my virgin media' today and it would appear my area (Glasgow, G66) has already recieved the 120MB upgrade.

My superhub is in modem mode so I'm unsure how to check power levels to confirm the speed increase.

Can anyone help?

do you not agree that if there was a intermment noise problem and the noise stopped during a test that the test would not pick up the noise and as such be misleading?

a 15 minute test is nothing.

actually they are failing a huge chunk of FTTC estimated dates. ignition's area eg. is 2 years late and still no sign of rollout. Check tbb.

Re: Where can I find out when my upload speed increases?

Some parts of Edinburgh are nearly 2 years late as well, though I've seen a good dozen or so fibre cabs pop up on my route to work so it's getting there...

Mind you it's ironic the centre of town has "no plans" for FTTC while the exchange next to it is trialling 1Gbps FTTP.
