The police said earlier that they "knew who they were looking for" in respect of her abductor.
And they found him close to the town.

Do it in private after the court case.

I thought that was normal practise in every Pimary school, along with a list of whom a specific child should NOT be allowed to walk away with (for good reason/s).
Good to know they are alert and aware.

They've named him as 46 year old Mark Bridger. Not a relation but known to the family.

Apparently the police are 'scaling back' the public search and concentrating on the river

The trouble is they stopped other people taking friends kids home (as some parents do a full time job, they are stuffed as this happened today without warning)

The longer this goes on the more I'm crossing my fingers and saying prayers for this wee girl
What her family must be going through is beyond thinking about.

Word is the police are investigating tyre marks at a part of the river that vehicles don't usually have access to.

Re: Abduction of 5 Year old Girl April Jones
On a much lesser scale of significance it's getting really annoying listening to tv reporters mispronouncing Machynlleth. Just ask a local, it's not difficult.

It's not difficult to organise nominated person/s to collect a child. In unexpected circumstances a call to the school will give alert to the school/staff that a child is going home with a non-nomiated person, often another relative or kindly parent of other pupils. The school you speak of should have organised that years ago.
Watch the child's face when they leave the building. It'll tell everything.
Anyhow - time ticks by and I'm not feeling hopeful.

Good old Huw Edwards nailed it on the 10 o'clock news as you would expect. Then I switched over to BBC3 and the 60-second update girl butchered it. She didn't even try.

Sky News have a Scottish reporter up there and this morning he was saying "Marc-humph-humph-humph-eth"
I stress this is nowhere near the significance of the greater story but with the press being there permanently for the last day or so you think they'd at least make an effort. I agree it's difficult if you've never seen, heard or said it before but there'll be plenty of people on hand to help them get it right.
Ma-ch-yn-ll-eth:
Ma, ch (mix the letter 'k' with 'th'), yn (un), ll (say 'th' with your tongue touching the roof of your mouth) eth. (as it sounds)
