And l for one am just happy that we in our household can set a reminder facility even though it records at the same time because that way we don't miss our favourite events plus if somethings crops up we always have the recording to fall back on just in case.

Well, considering the topic, a very diplomatic, ballanced reply. Anyone seen the real Carl Waring around? Just kidding

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
He asked why they worked the way they did; not if reminders were actually necessary

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Not very, as it wouldn't be of any use to me. I would hope if they do launch this, that prices don't go up because of the streaming on the go feature. I would imagine only a small percentage in UK have an iPhone or iPad.
And looking at the price on launch in America to get this streaming feature is $130 one off fee, which on current currency rates means UK users need to pay roughly ÂŁ83 for the service. No thanks. Would rather not have this streaming feature.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Am I right in thinking that if I just unplugged all the leads from the TiVo and V+ boxes and switched them around it would work? It's just I recorded something on the V+ box and wanted to watch it on the bigger TV downstairs.

Yes. I'm sure there 's someone on here who had TiVo installed and the v+ moved upstairs, found they hated TiVo and swapped them around with no problems.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
When I set the record function for 3 programmes in a row on the same channel (or different channels) each time TIVO is about to record said individual programme the channel banner comes up on the bottom of the screen like it does when I'm changing channels. I find this annoying, any reason why it happens? Don;t remember V+ doing this!

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
To clarify. Do you actually mean three in a row (ie consecutive) or three things at once?
Either way, I've never seen that happen; though I don't often record three things either consecutively or at once.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
If you mean recording three shows, one after the other on the same channel then its because TiVo doesn't use the same tuner for back to back recordings, so it is actually changing the channel each time a new show starts, and displaying the banner as a result.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
My point was it shouldn't be displaying any banners, whichever the OP means.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
I get banners if I'm watching something in delay and the recording finishes before I've caught up.
