No.
In this post Matt mentions the confirmed release date.
Later you made this post where you speculate on the release date which Matt had already confirmed early.
Not sure how that's anything to do with 'business sensitive information'.

I find it funny. People are moaning that the only things that have changed are that it has a slightly faster CPU, slightly bigger screen and a slightly better camera. Yet, when Samsung, HTC, Motorola etc release a new phone, people get excited that it has a slightly faster CPU, a slightly bigger screen and a slightly better camera.

To be perfectly honest all these touch screen jobbies look the same to me but i suppose that is down to the practicality of the phone ,you need an oblong case with a glass screen for practical useability
bit like a Porsche really ,good piece of kit but they all look the same

I missed the above post so just posted the speculative date which is all it was until yesterday when Apple confirmed the release, only Apple knew for certain up to the announcement.

Re: The iPhone thread
Yeah. So far it seems that pre-orders are just for SIM free unlocked. Don't know yet if Apple will also allow people to register one online for collection at an Apple Store. Apple did that for the release of the iPhone 4, but IIRC although it did do reservations for the 4S it was delayed a little, unlike the 4.
The networks should all be doing pre-orders, though. Well, except for O2 unless it has finally got its act together! IIRC from last year, all of them except for O2 allowed people to pre-order in advance. I think O2 also initially only sold it to existing customers.
My contract is up at the end of October. I'll be going for the iPhone 5, although I don't know if I will stick with O2. One thing that has always made me prefer O2 is that it's always had good UK-based CS. But...I read recently that some CS jobs are getting moved offshore, which removes one good thing O2 actually had over its rivals. Couple that with the fact that LTE on the iPhone 5 will only work with EE, I think I may finally move...

No but if it prevents extra calls coming in that will be good news, I personally will not be going down the iPhone route as they are not the phone for me.

Re: The iPhone thread
Tech spec speculation...
Apple hasn't come out and said whether the Apple A6 SoC is dual-core or quad-core, only that it is "twice as fast as the A5", has "2x faster CPU, 2x faster GPU", etc.
The Apple A5 SoC (iPad 2, iPhone 4S) uses a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU and a dual-core PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU. That's the same CPU as in the Nvidia Tegra 2 SoC and also as in Samsung's own Exynos SoC found in the Galaxy S II (but inferior to the quad-core Cortex-A9 found in the Tegra 3 SoC, in Samsung's Exynos SoC in the Galaxy S III, and in Sony's PlayStation Vita), but a superior GPU to the Tegra 2's (and Tegra 3's) GeForce ULP GPU.
The Apple A5X SoC (iPad 3) uses a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU and a quad-core PowerVR SGX543MP4 GPU. Same CPU again as in the Tegra 2 and in the Galaxy S II's Exynos, but an even better GPU than the already superior dual-core SGX543 of the A5. The quad-core SGX543 GPU is also found in the PlayStation Vita.
So, the A6...Given that it has to be a step up from the A5 and A5X, and has been stated to be "2x faster" etc., many are speculating that it has the same quad-core PowerVR SGX543MP4 GPU as the A5X (so "2x the graphical power" of the A5) but with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU like the Tegra 3, Galaxy S III and PS Vita (so "2x the CPU power" of the A5). It would seem the next logical step.
However... AnandTech has claimed that it may actually have a dual-core ARM Cortex-A15 CPU rather than a dual- or quad-core Cortex-A9. The A15 is ARM's next generation CPU, 40% faster than the A9, and is headed for the Nvidia Tegra 4 SoC and also the next Samsung Exynos SoC.
Still, this is all speculation. We'll have to wait until someone does a teardown once it's released next week.

Re: The iPhone thread
I normally like Apple products and Apple iPhones but i left IP4 and gor S3 eariler in the year. I saw the live launch on a blog and iPhone 5 didnt WOW me. It had no WOW factor. I think its just a iPhone 4S with a taller screen. It has a better CPU and CPU yes but at the moment still doesnt WOW me. Is it a Quad Core CPU and how much RAM does the phone have? It doesnt have NFC support so for the people that do use NFC its not a competier to its rivals. Ill stick to my S3 until my contract is up and then hope that the new iPhone by then will WOW me

Well you can now LINK
Or join the big queues on 21st September I will stick with my 4s and go for the OS upgrade. I wonder if it will run dead slow.
Regarding my daughter she has now got the 16Gb 4s on a £29.00 per month contract for 24 months giving her 600min talk 5000 text and unlimeted data. the phone cost just £29.00 none of the companies offered any student discount saying the prices were cut to the bone
Edit just a little fact. Apple sold more new iPads since its release than any PC manufacturer sold of their entire product range...!

Still no reservations for collection in store - just SIM free unlocked pre-orders for delivery.
I think Apple did do reservations for collection with the 4S, but not at launch (unlike the 4).
The networks are all doing pre-orders... Even, surprisingly, O2! Last year O2 only sold it to existing customers at launch, with no new customers, no pre-orders, and no online orders. This time, O2 is actually selling it to new and existing customers, and doing online pre-orders.
I do wonder, though, how many current and potential customers will abandon O2 for Orange / T-Mobile due to the 4G situation...

Unless your mate works for Apple, has been told that by Apple, or has taken one apart himself, then that it *still* just speculation.
No one knows for sure, and Apple has said nothing.
As I said before, given that Apple claims the Apple A6 is "2x faster" etc. than the Apple A5 used in the iPhone 4S and iPad 2, it would suggest it has moved to quad-core. The A5X used in the iPad 3 already has a quad-core GPU. Adding a quad-core CPU and calling it the A6 would be a logical step. However... AnandTech claim the A6 is still using a dual-core CPU, but that it is the next gen ARM Cortex-A15 rather than the Cortex-A9. If true, then it's still a jump, even though it would be "still dual core".
As Apple generally doesn't care to give away much info on specs, we won't know until someone takes it apart and investigates.
The benchmarks will also be interesting, once it's out.

Re: The iPhone thread
won't you have to get new apps if they have put a quad core in it ?
