Not the end of the world I know, but annoying when you have to fast forward a couple of hours through a longer programme.
Am I missing something obvious?

I always have the option to resume from where I left off, or from the begining.

It should work if you press OK. That's the way I usually do it and then you have the option of resume or play from the begining. I don't know why it isn't working for you.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
But to simply resume it's easier (and quicker) to just press 'play'

Very true, but I was pointing out that if there isn't the resume option when pressing OK, then there is a problem.
I tend to press OK out of habit, but sometimes remember to press Play.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
I started out doing the same thing he is I think pressing the wrong choice. Not home but if you go back in you have a choice its the left hand button - if I recall. That is however questionable !

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Definately when I press OK, it only gives me the option to watch again from the beginning. I'm at work atm, so will play around with it when I get home.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
When you see that option, press right and then down to see available options which should be "resume" and "from beginning" (or something like that).
ETA:
Well that's just weird I wrote the above in good faith as I was sure that's how it worked but I just tried it and..... nothing Just the "from beginning" option.
I have to say that I very rarely use that option so was going from memory so can only assume I am remembering incorrectly
Sorry!

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
When searching for a person, it says to do First Name then a comma then Last Name. How do I do a comma?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
You shouldn't need to. Just keep typing
ETA:
Actually, you can safely ignore that advice; both the manuals and also, therefore, mine as well.
I just tried it and you should type the name in as normal; ie FIRSTNAME SURNAME; ie TOM CRUISE.
ISTR I actually had this problem when I first got my VM Tivo. I put in an name in the way the manual said to and only just found out in time (or I would have missed something she was in) that it was wrong

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Okay. This one's been bugging me so I just had another go.
Search for the actor above then press OK. Then, from 'More Info' select option to 'create wishlist', which then creates a wishlist with the name in 'LASTNAME, FIRSTNAME' format.

That works, but you can also do it from create wishlist -> actor. The comma is the the top right corner.
MarkC: which screen can't you find the comma on?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Any of them. I must be looking in the wrong place, because I put the last name then can't find a comma so just do the first name then surname. Will have another look though.

Ignore the option 'from the beginning' on the right hand side.
Press ok instead of the right directional button and you will resume from where you left off.
In other words the default option is 'resume' you are deselecting that by moving over to the 'from beginning' option. It is confusing initially as it looks like that option is already selected as it is visible.
