Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Never thought you called anyone anything. I was merely remarking surprise that your birth wasn't questioned (re quote "but we never question a persons birth."), as I am almost positive it was a popular chant at football at one time. But maybe football is different where you were a referee

Isn't the B word the one that questions your legitimacy?... or did some foul mouth soccer player compare you to a female dog?
Edit: reread what you said, by questioning their birth you mean questioning their ethnicity rather than the blank space on a birth certificate where a father's name appears.
You're absolutely correct... soz.
Although using the B word on it's own as an insult could also be offensive.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Anyway fellow dogs, back on thread.
I am wondering who Man City will get.
They need a defender (maybe 2), a midfielder, and a striker if they lose one. Not convinced we absolutely need van persie. (I would love Hulk, platonic of course, not the love we can not say )
On signings so far, impressed with Chelsea's signings. If they got hulk, I would put them as joint favourites. Man Utd, if they got van persie and a midfielder..ditto.
Arsenal, they still need at least three signings, defense, midfield and striker if van persie leaves, before I would rate their chances
Sorry Den, liverpool I think will be playing for 6th

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Read on the back page of The People that Ashley Cole is apparently going to run down his contract at Chelski and go to United on a free transfer next summer.
Thought there was a rule that a player could buy their contract out and leave up to 2 years early?

Wilshere out until October.

Not good news for Arsenal with the RVP fiasco still rumbling on as well.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Wilshere ought to think about retiring, he's out injured more than he plays these days. May as well give up.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
they suck. like-wise Wenger whom burns decent players out by playing them too much due to depth being useless. anyway we're linked with a midfield trio. Cazorla and Sahin would be really good buys. plus a DM, the latest name being Celtics Wanyama anyone have knowledge on Wanyama?
Robin will in my opinion leave for Juve or stays if Wenger buys or because no one coughs up.

I'd say Wanyama is a good prospect rather than the finished article. He looked excellent in some games last season but also was inconsistent in others. He has played in various positions, midfield and defence, but I reckon he's best as a defensive midfielder.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
thanks LR. who would you compare him with right now? and who could he possibly be? ability wise.
M'Vila links are either dead due to behavior or money.

He's like a young Neil Lennon with some of Vieras attributes. Not as good as either yet though. Reads the game well and breaks up play. Not as good as Lennon because he does sometimes lose concentration and plays silly passes. Better pace than Lennon and he can get forward and chip in with the odd goal and assist.
I think Lennon has brought him on a bit and think Wenger could improve him further. I'd be happier to see him stay at Celtic for another season at least because I do rate him.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
thanks again LR. 'he does sometimes lose concentration and plays silly passes' we already have that although we need a fine tuning as a whole. may be this guy can improve within the overall improvement needed at Arsenal?

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Rio to be charged by the FA over his 'choc ice' tweet.....
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19052103
Yet they brought no charges against Liverpool's Daniel Pacheco in June when he referred to Glen Johnson as 'negrito' on twitter.
Who does Rio play for again?
