Smile does ntls webspace support forms?

I want to build a website with a mailing list form. Can I do this on ntls free webspace? If so what do I need to do? If not, what is the best solution?

cheers

parkie

I'd really like to take advantage of the free webspace

Re: does ntls webspace support forms?

no server side technology can be used on the ntl webspace.

If you want a cheap option (from 99p a month) check out www.i-websolutions.co.uk/cfhosting.php - iweb host this forum and they are great

Or have a look at http://www.bravenet.com for some free ones that you can insert into your pages. One tip, sign up using Hotmail or some other email account you're not bothered about...spam is the order of the day with those boys.

I signed up for this today, on the surface it looks ok, but I can't seem to make it like a forum should look,

I have tried to make topics, but it does not do anything.

I am looking for a forum, free preferrably, with easy to understand controls.

if you know this kind of forum, could I bend your ear?

Re: does ntls webspace support forms?

XMB is worth a try if you're new, but you'll need 'proper' hosting space. I-web, who are mentioned in this thread, can provide enough resources to host a simple forum for a next-to-nothing price.

XMB is here:
http://forums.xmbforum.com/

It can be downloaded here:

Re: does ntls webspace support forms?

The Answer to the original questions (FORMS, not FORUMS) is:

Maybe!

See http://www.netmechanic.com/news/vol3/form_no4.htm

You can use a form in "dumb" webspace, but the mailto action is dependent on the user's mail client.

The service mentioned is still available, but depending on the use, the ad sponsorship may be unacceptable

Hey Kits, I have went through everything, that I can find on the powerboards pages, and tried to include new categories, but it just does not work, the link you gave me never took me anywhere, it just said I ned to pick a forum.

oh well, looks like this is not the one for me.

Down the left side there are some boxes click on the cross where it says forum control.

This then allows you to make the forums. If you go to the main page and go to schoolhelp forums those are what I did last night.
